When Gabby says she is "fiercely independent" it really means that she is her "own person" who "independently" thinks "on her own" and has her own "independent ideas"...this has nothing to do with being a political Independent.

Never mind that her ideas typically originate from Democrats and liberals...once they are processed through her brain or, better yet, through her feelings...they become her "independent" feelings or ideas....

To understand liberals, one has to learn how they really think...I would venture to say that virtually all of them think themselves as "independents" or at least "independent thinkers"....

Of course, liberals claim we are not independent thinkers either. But the difference is, we actually know how to back up the ideas we have learned with factual information and logic. (as noted, we don't see Gabby doing this) We can write down the ideas we have come to believe in and explain why we believe in them - beyond just our "feelings". As with most liberals, this is what Gabby doesn't "get".

This whole thread is absurd. The conservatives are asking Gabby to tell them exactly how she feels on every single topical issue so they can judge for themselves just how liberal or conservative she is? Why on earth should she comply? They compound the absurdity of this request with blanket generalizations like 'liberals all think X', etc. Please please please lets not start threads like this that can ONLY degenerate into unproductive partisan bickering!

Moreover, Gabby keeps doing the same thing, prefacing posts with 'I wouldn't expect a conservative to' or 'Conservatives are all' etc etc etc.

Everyone, on both sides, for pete's sake lets stop generalizing! We can agree to disagree without labeling, name-calling, generalizing, etc. It just forces us to speak in completely rhetorical terms. Honestly, most posts that degenerate into 'oh yeah well you guys' nonsense contain the same words just rearranged to fit the context. How about some original content that doesn't stem from a prepackaged vernacular on how to best criticize the entire "other" party, without any regard for personal beliefs.

That said, Gabby doesn't have to lay it all out here for the wolves to tear apart. OCA, you want to know how Gabby feels just so you have more to criticize her about. You were NOT in this for your own personal edification. You started this thread simply to blast a left-leaning member. What is the poitn? Why don't you debate her in context in a thread that is actually about something?

Thank you for clarifying your opinions, yet again, on how brainwashed anyone who identifies themselves as Republican or Conservative is and how you are an independent because you don't tow the "party line" while anyone who falls into the above categories in your estimation obviously does.

Just for fun....could you tell us some of the opinions you have that DIFFER from the Democratic/Liberal party line? Surely if you are truly an independent you have several issues on the Democratic/Liberal agenda that you disagree with. What are they?
