Most alternative energy is not financially practical on a large scale yet. Many people have begun to make their own alternative fuels. Not hard. Information is out there. Not like it is a state secret. People are just too lazy or don't care enough yet. Information is not suppressed, I've used to publishing research and how to ideas from around the world for more than twenty years. At least once a week I still try to share news with friends, I just don't' devote my time to it anymore. I'm more selective.

Not like I am a novice at this. Granted most people today don't need to come up with alternative energy to survive, but we did. I started making my own candles and alcohol burners back in the 60's for when we had no power. Converting a bike to generate electricity. Came in handy during natural disasters as well. Same with keep food fresh without refrigeration or making medicine. Mostly it is just common sense. People in other parts of the world are far more resourceful than in the US or Europe. Not like you need an engineering degree.

Splitting water into Hydrogen and Oxygen and then burning the mix in an internal combustion engine producing clean water as its only by product. De-gassing flammable substances by heating in an oven and washing the gases produced to use as a fuel. Collecting certain plants to give of light as they decompose, using reed from waterways as a staple food.
