“DeSantis’ presidential campaign has fired roughly a dozen staffers — and more are expected in the coming weeks as he shakes up his big-money political operations after less than two months on the campaign trail.

Those who were let go were described to NBC News by a source familiar as mid-level staffers across several departments whose departures were related to cutting costs. The exits come after the departures of David Abrams and Tucker Obenshain, veterans of DeSantis’ political orbit, which were first reported by Politico.

Sources involved with the DeSantis campaign say there is an internal assessment among some that they hired too many staffers too early, and despite bringing in $20 million during its first six weeks, it was becoming clear their costs needed to be brought down.

Some in DeSantis’ political orbit are laying the early blame at the feet of campaign manager Generra Peck, who also led DeSantis’ 2022 midterm reelection bid and is in the hot seat right now.”

“…it’s still early in the campaign...”

“…it’s normal for presidential campaigns to make staffing changes…”

These are among the likely excuses we’ll hear.

This is a good thing.
He needed to.
I actually sent his campaign a message about they needed to do this a week ago. (And no I don't think anyone actually read it)
His campaign was being done terribly.
He will not win running as the "anti-woke" candidate. That is not who he is.
He needed to stick with how well he has done as a governor. Keep talking about all of the wins he has had in Florida. How Florida is beating virtually all other states in all catagories.
And that is what he did in the Ticker interview. It began there.

Last ditch effort I think for DeSantis. Unless he can get things going before Labor Day, he will be looking to pull the plug on the campaign and unify behind the Trumpster.

DeSantis was trying to run on sadism alone. Going to have to find some warmth from somewhere even if he has to fake it like Trump.

You mean attacking half the voter's in this Country, sprrading hate & donning military gear ain't workin' for Ronny Boi?

DeSantis is a legend in his own mind. Bye, bye Ron.

Florida has some of the highest inflation in the US. He's doing a knock-out job.

The "anti-woke" candidate is ALL he is. He's an empty shell.

I think there has been too much negativity so far in the DeSantis campaign.

He really hasn't talked Trump up at all, hasn't discussed how Sleepy Joe is persecuting the President, and how he'll rectify the situation and wreak havoc on the Biden Regime when he gets in.

If DeSantis were to talk strongly and positively about his President, he would do a lot better with the voters and really distinguish himself from the Fatman from New Jersey. It would also be useful for DeSantis to spend a lot more time attacking Christie and the governor's horrendous ethics violations in Fort Lee and the George Washington Bridge- which BTW, came from Christie's liberal friends. If Christie's own friends admit he is corrupt, that speaks for itself.

Fewer than 10 staffers were let go by the Florida governor’s campaign Thursday, according to a person familiar with the internal deliberations and granted anonymity to describe them. Each of the aides was involved in event planning, and some of them may soon wind up at an allied outside group. Never Back Down, the pro-DeSantis super PAC, has received resumes from staffers who’ve been let go, a person familiar with the group said.

His cash has run out and he needs to lose staff. It would be cheaper for him tp just fold the whole campaign.

He could sell some collectible cards maybe ?

Trump would need to come out as gay for Desantis to stand a chance.. It seems like a terrible waste of money.

Stop talking endlessly about yourself . And, Yes, we saw you being escorted away for trying to spit over our beloved monarch when they visited our little principality -- on the left hand side when you hold the map upright . The little black blob area just half way down, slipping into the Irish Sea .

Progs have to see DeSantis as a potential future Presidential candidate. I tell you now. Most men would not mind having a wife like he has at this point. There are many that do. Many who do not. They want to destroy her also. If DeSantis is for America first and against the Ukraine war, he has opportunity.

I cant see him attracting anyone outside his crazy right wing fringe.

There is no crazy rightwing fringe. That is that is the real normal. At least to push for. Tommy, utopia does not exist. Advances are incremental. What has happened over recent decades is revolutionary but needs a pipeline of massive resources to sustain. Within this normal is a lot of flaws. Imperfections. And that is jumped on from people who do not agree. Let Joe start with giving renters huge checks to counter rent increases. Since Progs are giving money to their privileged groups.
