Rumor has it that the Ukrainians in this T72 mistook those infantrymen for Russians because they had gathered around an APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) marked with V, when in fact they had gathered for a photo op in front of this APC. Bastards have a habit of showing off whenever they can. The show turned out to be smashing.

The Russians filmed the aftermath of the attack. The tank was definitely Russian. The dead bodies even had the blue armbands that indicated they were ukrainian.

They are being slowly phased out, but still used. Nowadays, there is the T90M, one of the latest modifications that has much better protection against tank shells and even ATGM, being able to deflect them with IR dazzlers.
