Serious scenario facing Obama in the presidential race of 2011.

Good thing for Obama that there isn't a presidential election in this country in 2011...

People who are truly interested in campaigns and want to be educated voters know when the actual campaign starts.

Others, like yourself I assume, simply believe the campaign begins summer 2012...you know...when the debates are on.

I'm sitting here on a beautiful afternoon three years out from the next presidential election and a year out from congressional races. Clearly, I'm someone who follows this constantly.

Then I must ask...why did you cirticize us for discussing a campaign that takes place in 2011?

To me, the primaries are the most important time. It is when partisanship is not a role player.....real issues are.

If the market is above 10,000 and unemployment below 6.5, Obama is virtually untouchable. The proported baggage is just wishful thinking.
Now, if the ecomony has not recovered to that point, the GOP chances still hinge on finding a good enough challenger. Romney is probably the best hope, then maybe Pawlenty .... but either of them would have to come a long way even if the economy re-tanks.

...And that would have been the demise of Obama.

Folks kept saying that in 2008, and he still won by a margin that was historic. Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, Savage et all screamed about Wright from the roof tops to their large crowds of Conservatives, the true majority (at least in their world). Many state GOP parties ran ads about wright. CNN, Fox, and even MSNBC talked about him.

Who won in 2008?

Face it folks, the average voter did not care about Wright, did not care about his association to Obama, and is even likely to care LESS about this issue in 2012. If Wright is all the GOP has, then it doesn't matter if they run Palin and Reagan's magical love child. They will still lose.

2012 is likely to be about issues, just like 2008 was. If the GOP doesn't have a plan to address those issues better than they did in 2008, they might as well stay home and let a third party have a shot at the big game.
We have FAR more than Wright. As the days go by, and Obama's list of associations, friendships, and APPOINTMENTS of complete anti-american scumbags grow, both Hillary and the GOP's frothing at the mouth to get to the now completely proven inept clown, known as Barack HUSSEIN Obama, will continually grow.
Obama WILL NOT be re-elected.

So on the issues folks cared about in 2008, like the economy, health care, national defense, etc, you have nothing. Good to know.

I was hoping that the GOP could come back sooner than 2014, but I guess I'll be waiting until 2020 if this is what passes for strategy in the GOP circles.

Along with his associations with complete anti-american scumbags. We have the facts of his numbers not matching in anyway regarding the economy. In fact, he's BLATANTLY lied about those numbers continually. We have the fact that Afghanistan has once again turned to complete turmoil on his watch. His healthcare fiasco is becoming a complete failure. He's completely failed on his promise of FULL transparency. And on and on and on!
Obama WILL NOT be re-elected!

Obama being proclaimed a one-termer by the same clowns who proclaimed him a no-termer.

I knew he won the day he beat Hillary.

It did not take rocket science to know that a man that promises a check in the mail to 95% of the people and compares his opponent to a lame duck that had a sub 35% approval rating would win.

But he STILL would need to back up his words with actions.

His actions, although on the outside may appear noble, are actually very transparent to the semi intelligent. Afterall, the man is taking credit for alleviating our pain when in fact he is only taking from our children to alleviate our pain.

My youngest can steal from my wifes pocket book and give it to his friend and come across as a hero.

So what exactly has Obama done that is so "great"?

I now see him as a one termer.

Along with his associations with complete anti-american scumbags.

Obama's associations didn't hurt him in 2008, despite the GOP's, Palin's, and the Right Wing Radio's best attempts. Won't be an issue in 2012.

We have the facts of his numbers not matching in anyway regarding the economy.

Debatable, but even if you're right, there's still 2.5 years for the economy turn around before the primary season, and 3+ before election day.

In fact, he's BLATANTLY lied about those numbers continually.

Again, even if you're right, and that's a big IF, will that matter if the economy has recovered in 2012? By that point it will be old news.

We have the fact that Afghanistan has once again turned to complete turmoil on his watch.

It was a royal mess under Bush too. We're only paying attention now. There's still 2.5 to 3 years before the election, plenty of time to turn it around or leave.

His healthcare fiasco is becoming a complete failure.

It hasn't passed yet. How can something that doesn't even exsist fail?

He's completely failed on his promise of FULL transparency.

Probably the one thing worthwhile in this post, but again, the voting public as a whole could care less. They re-elected Bush and his administration was as transparent as a brick wall. Transparency isn't an issue for the average voter.

And on and on and on!
Obama WILL NOT be re-elected!

I'm betting you thought he wouldn't be elected the first time. How'd that prediction turn out for you?

Now, we all know that Obama has some serious baggage at this point. The two most heavy pieces of luggage being Van Jones and ACORN. This CANNOT be disputed, although you Obamabots will spin and deflect until the cows come home on this issue.
Besides the GOP candidates and eventual nominee, it is HILLARY who is going to benefit most from Obama's baggage.
Why you say?
Well, two reasons. Number one being, Hillary and Obama can't stand each other. This also cannot be disputed. Number two, Hillary and William Jethro still feel an entitlement is due them to occupy the oval office.
Hillary WILL run again, and she still has many in the DNC in her corner. She's still very popular among a large number of dem's and independents, particularly women.
Now, Hillary is sitting back right now thinking, "i'm just going to sit back, do my job, and keep my mouth shut. I've got this incompetent SOB right where I want him." William Jethro is thinking the same exact thing.
Factor in the GOP candidates, along with Hillary and William Jethro, and it becomes quite clear that Obama is nothing more than a one term failure.
Any thoughts?

One of the most clueless political analysis I've ever seen.

First- Election is in 2012

Second- Outside of Fox News watchers, NOBODY cares about Van Jones and Acorn. You might as well bring up the impact the birthers will have. Real Americans care about issues like the economy, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, jobs, healthcare...

Third- Hillary will not run against Obama, it will kill her chances of ever being President. I see a more likely scenario of Biden stepping aside and letting Hillary be VP

Fourth- The republicans do not have a candidate. As much as they hate to admit it, McCain was their best available candidate in 2008. They did not have a superstar waiting in the wings. Romney is their best available option and Romney will never get Boss Limbaughs approval.

Fifth- If the best you can offer up at this point is ACORN and Van Jones, the party is doomed. If the republican plan is to run their usual guns, abortion and gay platform, they will be soundly defeated. They need to appeal to the middle. Rush Limbaugh is not your friend

If the market is above 10,000 and unemployment below 6.5, Obama is virtually untouchable.

Clinton had a much improved economy in '96, yet got fewer electoral votes than he did in '92.

See a similar scenario with Obama. He could very well win again, but by a smaller margin and face a defiant Congress that turns term#2 into 4 years of frustration that will make his hair as white as Clinton's.

I can agree that Obama may only last one term(called this during the elections last year!!) but I do disagree with several points.

1)Van Jones--under the Obama Monster Steamroller Bus(with Rev. Wright, his grand ma, do I need to say more??). By next year this time, people are going to say "Van who??"

2) ACORN--Only the focus of some hard core right wingers that argue against investigating the CIA. Should we investigate ACORN--of course not!! That would make the communtiy organizers "timid" in their pursuit of employing 14 year old prostitutes.

3)the Clinton factor--besides actually holding the office which is only a title) one need to ask what the Clinton's want. That is power. But the power need not be directly under their control, and Obama is pretty much their cat's paw for their own agenda. Hillary doing something to hurt her position is a bit idiotic at best. She got everything she wants except the office of the president itself.

4)GOP candidates--Who are they? Not Newt Gingrich. Jindal may not run. Jeb Bush is a Bush. Sanford cheats on his wife. That leaves Haley Barbour. A very colorful southern governor that I think could do the job. But think about that scenario

A Northern Black man from an industrial city(Chicago) versus a Deep Southern White Governor(Mississippi) with a very heavy drawl. Do you understand how that will play on the Psyche of Americans.. Expect Hank Johnson to add "Cross burnings" to his rhetorical repertoire

5)The real reason not to expect a second term from Obama(or McCain, if he were elected) is due to the number of problems that must be addressed and the short amount of time to address them sufficiently. In my opinion, I think the GOP seriously tried to throw the elections last year. Due to the current and coming situations. If Obama win's a second term, then it is by the skin on his nose.

Spot on sir, spot on!

The only thing worse than a beating is a beating that came out of nowhere and you didn't expect.

The Republicans are in for BOTH come 2012.

And I can't WAIT!

LOL!!!

No you stupid fuck, THE RACE of 2011 (shit! I said race!).

Seeing as you haven't been keeping up with the times, we're up to two-year long campaigns for the presidency now.

Nice try at saving face

Sitting presidents don't need a two year campaign for president. The first Primary is in early 2012 with the election in November 2012

The markets is strackin back to 10,000, the Iraq war is winding down(Afganistan is starting to look like it will wind down around 2011/2), the right maniacal scream of socialism and high taxes before anyone can see it and yes, we couldvery well look at a political slaughter of the Republican party come 2012.

Conservatives better hope something stick soon!! Obama has developed some serious teflon from all the wild accusations from the right.

From June, there's been more since:

Yet Another Appointee with Tax Problems

Yet Another Appointee with Tax Problems
James Joyner | Friday, June 19, 2009

Capricia Penavic Marshall, President Obama’s nominee for chief of protocol at State (an ambassadorial position) failed to file taxes in 2005 and 2006. She filed late in November, citing various excuses that are ever-so-slightly plausible.

Marshall joins Timothy Geithner, Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer, and others. (And eventually-to-be Senator Al Franken got a jump on all of them.) [UPDATE: It's noteworthy, as explained later in the article, that, unlike the other figures, Marshall was actually owed $37,259 in refunds!]

Previously, I wondered whether Democratic politicos are especially prone to tax issues, the Obama vetting process is simply bad, or some combination.

But Obama’s not a slow learner. After so many instances, there has to be method to this madness. Perhaps this is his plan for ending the budget deficit?

As an aside, in hindsight, this is clearly a post he should have filled earlier, what with the various DVD, iPod, and reset button gaffes.

Then there's Rangle, Dodd, etc.

No problems raising taxes, they don't pay them. Now Corker is talking about increasing the $8k tax credit for first time buyers to $15k and lifting the Nov 30 deadline. Funny thing, for those that saved up the down payments, made their mortgage payments, they just get 'hit' with both sale and debt for the freeloaders.

Saving what face?....It's not my premise, knucklehead.

Besides, Obubblehead has yet to cease his campaign for the '08 election .

I forgotten all about Geithner's tax problems.

Maybe it is because he paid off what he owed?? And considering that I once owed the IRS extra due to problems filing, I do not hold that over anybodies head.

Tell us when you catch Barney Franks soliciting Pages or Kucinich cheating on his wife!! Or Obama having midnight rendez-vous with sketchy male prostitutes in the Whitehouse. That will stick in my head!!
