She hoped Trump's victory would change her life, but not like this

What is wasteful about being a Forestry Agent?
Nothing wasteful about being a forestry agent. Were ALL forestry agents terminated? How essential is a forestry agent? How many do we need?

Professions and positions at all skill levels are made redundant.

Ever see all those fires around LA?
Managing our forests is essential

Are FAA workers, IRS, Social Security, Food and drug inspectors, nuclear weapons inspectors…….Waste, fraud and abuse?

Trump is firing people without concern for the impact

I don't remember hearing none of these loons complain when biden fired thousands for not getting the vaccine. Congress was exempt from it, of course.
Those employees had a choice

Trump is firing people with no choice

Again, were ALL Forestry Agents terminated? Since you brought in FAA, FDA, SSA, and IRS….. what roles were eliminated? Were those roles redundant? Beyond redundancy, were the roles eliminated more of support and administration that were just part of bloat and over expansion?

You people worship Government and believe any and all of it is essential and should not be held to the same scrutiny and level of accountability that those in the private sector must adhere to daily

I have no problem with eliminating redundant or unnecessary workers.

But when you indiscriminately fire people without even bothering to investigate what they do and what the impact will be….then claiming you are cutting waste and abuse

Is outright LYING to the American people

The problem is you people think every role in government is essential and that there is little or no redundancy. This becomes fertile ground for waste, fraud, and abuse.

The system is being shocked. Accountability is the new theme. Everything Federal workers are experiencing now is what the American taxpayer experiences on a daily basis in the private sector. Before the close of business every Friday, I have to submit a weekly report detailing what I accomplished for the week and what my plans are for the next week. Why was this notion met with such shock and resentment when Musk and DOGE suggested it for Federal workers?

'Ryleigh Cooper exhaled as she slid onto the couch after nine hours of work for the U.S. Forest Service, still covered in the blue paint she used to mark trees for local loggers. Then she got the text.

“I hate to be the bearer of bad news,” her union leader wrote.

It was the second Thursday in February, and a historic White House purge aimed at federal workers like Cooper was sweeping the country. But the headlines felt far away from her life in rural Michigan. She figured her job, with paychecks totaling about $40,000 a year, would be safe from the cost-cutting campaign led by President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk.

Besides, motherhood was her most pressing concern. Cooper, 24, and her husband were trying to get pregnant, but the doctor said that IVF might be their best chance. Trump had promised to make it free. That is what she thought about in the voting booth.

Getting fired meant she would no longer have health insurance, including the 12 weeks of paid maternity leave that was a guaranteed benefit of her federal service. Also gone would be the promotion that would allow her to plan for the kids she so badly wanted to have. She wondered if Trump was going to break his promise to make IVF free, and if it would even matter if he did.'

“She figured her job, with paychecks totaling about $40,000 a year, would be safe…”

An example of the stupidity of the Trump voter.

And yes, Trump was lying about 'free' IVF, among many other things.
Waaah waaah waaah......we in the real world lose our jobs all the time. Suck it up and get another one.
Oh, not you of course, facediaper.

Trump is not bothering to find out if they are doing their job
He is firing indiscriminately
Bullshit the first round was either come back to the office or resign. He even gave them a severance package till September. Better than what Biden did.

Again getting rid of workers regardless of what they do or how critical they are.

Biden did they same and you were silent, hypocrite. Oh what about your boy Chuck Todd yesterday admitting that Biden is a piece of shit and should've never been president. Proves you loons are nuts.

He did no such thing

Anecdotal example….Regular people are all subject to layoffs, an/or firings everyday…Lesson of the day, when you get a job, you don’t own that job…

People lose their jobs all the time, and as often as not, it is not their fault. I lost - by my estimate - seven jobs during my work career from 1971 through 2016. It was a personal problem for me every time, but I got through it. Why should government workers be protected from this normal and natural part of life? If they want job security they should start their own business.

What nobody is saying about the DOGE cuts is this: The reason why they have to do it with a chain saw rather than slowly and deliberately is because if they take the latter course, then cuts will be made on a "seniority" basis, which defeats the purpose.

As I have posted here before, I worked for DoD for 8 years, and the agency I worked for (Defense Logistics Agency) could have been forcibly shrunk by at least 50%, with no reduction in productivity. There were superfluous positions, meaningless tasks, pointless reports, and people who did basically nothing even though they had work to do.

There may be a few agencies in the Federal government that are actually quite efficient, but I really cannot imagine that happening in real life. It is a happy coincidence that in the course of performing its required tasks, the government employs a lot of people, but the government does not exist to employ people. That is not its mission.
