The court had decided to apply manslaughter - ignoring the evidence that she had target practiced in her basement.

The by far strangest part is that until today - aside from Grabowski having strangled the little girl - a rape or sexual assault was never confirmed nor denied.
Grabowski had stated that the girl tried to blackmail him - as for him having supposedly inappropriately touched her.

The Mother was a single mom - struggling financially and had already given two of her other daughters free for adoption. Upon a quarrel with her mother the 7 year old Anna somehow ended up in her neighbors (Grabowski's) place.
