A strike on a Russian tanker would also panic the White House, prompting a swift and desperately needed restructuring of the Price Cap. Ukraine will not win the war without it.
Attacking Russian tankers is, of course, a politically risky option. A very risky option. On the other hand, certain defeat at the hands of the Russians is a much higher price to pay. If push comes to shove, the Ukrainians need to shove. Marjorie Taylor Greene and the MAGA Republicans need to decide if they want to own $6 unleaded as the Ukraine vote reaches the House floor.
Good Idea... that way gas will be over $10 a gal by election day.....
If Ukraine's SBU starts attacking Russia's civilian oil transports, the Biden administration would stop funding Ukraine's reckless criminal regime, which seals Ukraine's fate. When all options are on the table to win the war, Russia would also target civilians, killing tens of thousands on the ground in Kiev and other major cities. It would anger major EU member states such as Germany as well. Russia exported crude petroleum ($11.5B) to Germany in 2022. Without Russian oil, Germany would face an acute slowdown in economic activity.
Do you hate fish destroyed in Ruzzian-bombed Kahovka dam? How about whole eco-system? Where were you THEN?What the hell is wrong with you people. Sink all of the Russian Tankers? I remember when the Exxon Valdez where it wasted hundreds of miles of shoreline in the Western US. And that was just a leak. Imagine what would happen if the ship was bombed and it went off spewing hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil over miles and miles. And then you haven't still pulled your head out your ass and do it 3 more times? You must hate fish.

Hello?
No, it shouldn't of course. There were already mentioned above ecological issues coming out of that. Besides, interrupting chains of energy supplies will lead to hike in energy prices, and Russia can get even more benefits out of that.
What Ukraine should do is to learn how to shoot down Russian military planes, at least near the border and frontline. This question is far more acute than oil tankers.
I think those figures are too optimistic. And before you will express another piece of your valuable opinion, read something about what KABs and FABs and UMPK are, and what their role is in Russian recent advances. Are you volunteering to teach them? From what I can see, the Ukrainians are doing a pretty good job of shooting down Russian Aircraft at or near the border. Russia has lot 338 (and counting) Fighter Jets to date. And 332 to date (and counting) Choppers.
But Ukraine doesn't necessarily need to destroy them. Days after the invasion started, the Ukrainian AF lost a lot of Aircraft and had to pull back. Today, those losses have been replaced by captured Russian Aircraft. Not enough to stop Russia but it sure slow 'em down.
As for the interruption of energy, that is only a minor condition as compared to the devastating loss of fishing and wild life near the shores.

I already said that striking tankers full of oil is a bad idea. Should I repeat it once again for you?Which none have anything to do with striking an oil tanker with a 1000lb explosive bomb. Please stop trying to feed Bullshit into the Ballgame.
a tactical pause, the green light given :According to the Financial Times, the Biden administration, in response to Ukrainian drone attacks on 12 oil refineries in Russia, โurged Ukraine to halt attacks on Russiaโs energy infrastructure, warning that the drone strikes risk driving up global oil prices and provoking retaliation.โ
Biden inexplicably urges Ukraine not to be so effective fighting against Russia
The White House seems more concerned about global and domestic oil prices in an election year than Kyiv degrading Russiaโs primary source of revenue.thehill.com
