I never said I supported anything. I said people were lying when they claimed the minority that was hired was unqualified.
There have been examples of dei leading to lowering standards or passing over more qualified whites. Or an unqualified minorities being hired.
But that is not required for discrimination to take place.
In your scenario, the white guy applying for the job had equal qualifications for the job. At that point, to be fair, it should basically be a coin toss, the white guy should have a 50/50 shot at the job.
But YOU crafted the scenario, so that the government forced the hiring of the not white guy, based on him being NOT WHITE.
That is the white guy being fucked by a racist government policy.
That job could have been the difference between him managing to hold his family together or his wife leaving him.
Losing a job, is a real harm being inflicted. And your scenario, is a real policy.
And actually, I think you are being very generious to the policy, I think that the bias in favor of the non white guy is a lot more aggressive than you presented.
When I was in management, and transferring to another facility, and upper management wanted to fill my position with a minority to make management more diverse, they didn't even consider any of the white candidates.
No thought was given to how qualifed they were or were not.
They only asked about the black candidates. They hired a black woman and she was fired in weeks. (admittedly not because of lack of qualifications, but because upper management was completely unreasonable. But, dealing with that was unfortunately an off the book requirement of the job, and I knew that which is why I did not recommend that woman.)
