South Korea turning Radical Left

I can understand Canada and the EU going far left but South Korea being on the front line of communist tyranny it boggles the mind.
What bullshit are you talking about? Yoon is deeply unpopular and no patriot.

Yes, allies that help us help them

What happens to us if South Korea falls to communist china?

We will be behind the 8-ball and a much weaker nation
South Koreans shouldn't care what happens to America. Maybe America will get back to be a big countryside behind the oceans. Who cares?

No one says that S Korea should fall to China. But it is logical to assume that people there should seek for good relations with their neighbours, rather than confrontation. A united demilitarised Korean peninsula will be much better for everyone than this warmongering bullshit over there.

America has a large Korean population

And they care what happens in the old country

Besides, dont fall for the lie that America is universally hated in South Korea

This Korean population should decide who they are and what country they should care about.

I never meant that America is 'universally' hated there. But America ridiculously still lives in the Cold War era and thinks in that matrix. While the world moves on, America is grasping the last straws talking about communists, 'free world' and other things of the gone epoch. It is somewhat understandable, because it was that epoch that made America 'America'. But your time is fading away too.

Communist china and north korea have not moved on from the Cold War

I dont know what the Koreans plan to do

They seem to be of one mind in the north and many minds in the south

If they want to submit to an authoritarian leftwing dictatorship we cant stop them

But I will be surprised if that is what they choose

It is up to them. It is their land. But the North and South are one nation, after all.

No, they're not. They were 75 years ago, but not now.
You are right, formally. But I don't see a reason why North and South Koreas can't unite as East and West Germanies did more than 30 years ago. With some extended transitional period, of course.

Because...bluntly, South Korea can't afford it. It would cost trillions and take multiple generations to bring North Korea up to anything even vaguely resembling a modern nation. East Germany wasn't wonderful, but was a more or less functioning, industrialized country. Germany was only split for 45 years. NK has been split for most of two GENERATIONS longer and is barely functional. It's been so long that the Korean language is noticeably different in north and south. (They even say and write the name of the LANGUAGE differently-south on the left, north on the right.)

Also, Korea hasn't been a unified country in over a century. It was a de facto Japanese colony in 1905, and an ACTUAL Japanese colony from 1910 to the end of WW2. After that, it was essentially occupied territory for much of the next 5 years, until the Korean War.

Yes, agree with that. Between the South and North is an abyss. I don't know whether uniting is possible on practice or whether the South really wants that. As I said above, it is up to them to decide.

America doesn't have allies it has clients and vassals, they will find that out if they vote the wrong way.
Nonsense

South Korea is very much an equal partner with America and we are much better off having them on our side
