Supreme Court rejects student's challenge to 'two genders' T-shirt ban

A middle school student in Massachusetts was told he could not wear the T-shirt based on the school's dress code, which forbids hate speech.

'The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to hear a Massachusetts student's challenge to his middle school's prohibition on him wearing a T-shirt bearing the slogan "There are only two genders." ... The case arose from student Liam Morrison's dispute with Nichols Middle School in Middleborough.

Lawyers for Morrison at the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative Christian legal advocacy group, say students were "bombarded" with messages promoting the view "that sex and gender are self-defined, limitless, and unmoored from biology."

Morrison believes that view is "false and harmful" and responded in March 2023 when he was in seventh grade by wearing the T-shirt. After he was told to remove it, he later wore another shirt that said "There are [censored] genders." ... Morrison was not punished for wearing the shirts, although he was told he could not wear them in class and was sent home when he refused to remove the first one.’

Another example of the fascist right indoctrinating young people into the conservative culture of intolerance, bigotry, and hate.

It also comes as no surprise that the Christian right comes to the defense of conservative hate speech.

And before those on the fascist right start whining and lying about ‘free speech’ being ‘violated,’ hate speech has long not been entitled to First Amendment protections, particularly students in public schools engaging in hate speech.
A shirt that states a biological fact isn’t “hate speech”.

Regardless of why he wore the shirt, facts are facts. It is only the left that tries to turn facts into hate speech to further their corruption of truth. If a fact hurts your feelings, it is your feelings that are wrong.
AMEN
And even bigger-You are responsible for your feelings . No one else

Wow ? People who are so easily threatened by new ideas should consider getting help to understand what it is about themselves-what fears they harbor deep inside- that has caused their minds to slam so rigidly shut.

Or, is it just bigotry?
Its reality. In your world we play pretend. The world cannot function by playing games.

The left would say the facts support Climate Change. The left would say facts support Covid vaccines and a number of other issues. Both sides can come up with their own facts, which is why we need to keep politics out of the dress code. Kids are there to learn, not to take political stands. All I ask is that the whole process be fair. Don't let children wear T-Shirts saying there are many genders and then turn right around and refuse to let a kid wear a T-shirt which says there are only two.

Really? Would you say the same about a kid wearing a Che t-shirt?

How is this political. There are only two genders. Scientific facts may be uncomfortable, but they are not political.
The T-shirt is deliberately provocative. The kid was trying to stir up some shit.

Don't pretend he wasn't.

Every school has a dress code.

He can wear it in public any time he chooses.

That kid has the right to believe there are two genders (because there are only two genders).

It's the Leftists that are trying to indoctrinate kids.

We know facts and truth provokes you very ill feelers

Put 50 women and 50 men on a deserted but fertile island, in 500 years there's a good chance you'll return to find a thriving civilization.

Put 50 trans-women and 50 men on the same deserted island, come back in 500 years and you'll find 100 male skeletons.

If the kid wore a shirt that said "There are many genders" does anyone think anyone would have given him trouble?

Is a rainbow flag in school provocative?

I don't know the exact details of this particular case but, generally speaking, I'm ok with a dress code that is politically neutral. Which means you can't wear a t-shirt saying there are only two genders and you can't wear one saying there are many genders. Whatever the dress code is it has to be fair to both sides.
Agree. I believe that the source of denying the case is because schools set their own dress code. The student wasn't ordered to be silent. I could be wrong, just my opinion.

688 students in thst school this year. I wonder what the administration would do if 200 of them showed up wearing similar shirts one day next week. Or the first day of school next year.

Kind of sad when the truth is considered hate speech since there are only two genders. Also sad is creepy showing once again he doesn't know what the word fascist means. That's what he gets for trying to sound like an adult without actually knowing what they are talking about.
He should do a protest so Trump could take away their funding.
