Slow round of applause for Obama and his immigration policies! Another person is dead and a baby without its mother now thanks to this.

Even if ICE had made the request, it is not clear that the county would have honored it. Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter announced in 2014 that the jail would no longer honor ICE requests to hold inmates unless the agency presents a warrant or court order requiring them to hold an inmate in custody longer.

Ray Tranchant addressed Congress after his daughter Tessa was killed by a drunk driver who had returned after previous deportation. I didn't know Virginia had these problems, but they have the same sanctuary city problem that Houston has. Look up Joslyn and Rodney Johnson, both Houston police officers until he got killed after stopping a drunk driver who shot him 7 times in the head leaving a widow and 5 kids without a father and husband. Juan Quintero didn't get the death penalty because his legal team used brain scans to prove he was mentally impaired. He tried to escape with a group of other inmates in a highly contested case that many officers felt endangered lives of officers by diminishing the punishment for killing a law officer in the line of duty. Surviving widow Sergeant Joslyn Johnson cannot speak publicly as an employee of HPD but she did lobby for safer patrol policies of two officers in pairs.

Another high profile case in Houston was a dentist in West U killed by the serial killer who traveled by trains to avoid detection. I think that guy got executed for multiple murders.

If the Catholic Church doesn't believe in the death penalty, why not set up private prisons along the border guarded 24/7 by military bases and send all serial killers and pedophile rapists to be deported there instead of executions. Include the pedophile priests who can counsel the men while they serve time, and supervise prison labor. The men convicted of trafficking slave labor and sexual abuse victims can pay restitution for life by doing the work of sweatshops and letting children go to school instead of working to support their families.

Set up work programs and jobs in education production health care and other social services along the borders to act as a buffer. Then workers and immigrants can have legal access to opportunities in developed communities they can invest their labor in to own shares and have representation. And not have to cross illegally or fall victim to traffickers.

They want inclusion, but are weak when it comes to holding people responsible to the laws.

Why not require people to sponsor the immigrant groups and workers they believe to be law abiding
and productive. If you're willing to accept legal and financial responsibility, that should be rewarded with tax breaks.
So immigrants would be responsible and rewarded for meeting the expectations of society, instead of going unchecked with no support to succeed.
