Here is a slow paced but interesting interview with ex-UK Ambassador to Syria Peter Ford. It reminds us of the terrible consequences of continuing U.S. economic sanctions and ongoing military occupation of critical oil, food-producing and highways of that country. Few U.S. citizens understand what terrible suffering these have brought to the Syrian people. There can be no normal life for Syrians, no reconstruction of the shattered country, no return of refugees, as long as U.S. hostility continues.

I have read that the generals also lied to President Obama about certain things in the Middle East.

It seems that our having a non-political military is somewhat of a myth.
