Las Vegas, Nevada
We've lived in Las Vegas for several years and the flooding we've experienced around the city the last two days is nothing unusual. It happens every year in late summer during "Monsoon Season." Because of the lack of rainfall the desert ground is hard and does not absorb the water nearly as fast as other parts of the country that see frequent rainfall. The washes eventually overflow and the water spills out into the streets.

Of course, that hasn't stopped the climate hysterics on the left to add this to their list of climate catastrophes caused by people driving Ford F 150s

These people will label any extreme weather event as climate change in the name of their religion.

Why not build recharge dams and capture groundwater?

Nothing to see here, folks. And it's too late anyways. Just be prepared to pay and pay and pay for repairs. (and insurance)

Decrease your carbon footprint and protect the planet please.
More importantly, if climate is your concern, please learn what climate actually is. It spans from 30 years or more in the scientific community and not one or two seasons of rainfall or storms. Las Vegas needs this water and to present it as bad for the city or state is simply wrong.

Yep, multiple times. It's become a running joke every time a bad storm blows through. Which casino will leak this time?
Thanks, I didn't know that. But I think I detect some difference in that statement from what is occurring.
Even if it didn't, what does a faulty roof have to do with climate change?

Nothing as such, concerning roofs or ceilings. But something if it's not usual flooding. First we need to establish whether or not it's the usual thing for Las Vegas, then connecting it to climate change would come later.

The fact is that Lake Mead would be overrun with water if it was climate.

I guess that's your little secret, isn't it.

ERROR: I am wrong. Lake Mead is at a lower elevation than is Las Vegas.
Thanks to the poster who corrected my wrong post. Lake Mead is currently recovering. Las Vegas supplies water to Lake Mead.

The rightwing like the phrase 'climate change' because they can then confuse climate and weather in their dishonest arguments.

The proper phrase is 'global warming'.
We are still in the interglacial ice age.
