Even if the Armed Forces supported such as move, which they would not, gun owners outnumber total Armed Forces personnel 100 to 3.5.

The police would neither support such a move, even if they agreed with confiscation, as police forces have to live in the same neighborhoods as gun owners. Any attempt to disarm the public would place them and their families in great danger.
