The majority of Americans have a literacy rating below 6th grade level !

Doesn't really surprise me. Just start trying to talk to most any of the lefties on this board! They are the worst! They are imbeciles. I just put JackOfNoTrades on Ignore because talking to him was like a 4th grader! He was doing it on purpose probably because I was too close to the truth and he had run out of answers years ago. It says that the state with the lowest adult literacy rate was California, well, I do know that California just barely avoids being the state with the lowest average IQ by 1-2 tenths of a point (over Louisiana).

Now you know why Nancy and Gavin have done so well there. Democrats DEPEND on stupid people.

I laughed so hard at your comment on Jack....it's like they're programmed honestly hahaha

when I saw these stats I must admit that I was shocked ! the majority of Americans have a literacy rating below the 6th grade level ! what does this say about our education system ? what does this say about the future of our country !

It says it's terrible. Just how the dems want it.

Uneducated people are easy to fool.

The cost has nothing to do with whether they stayed up all night playing video games, running the streets, hooking up with their classmates, or smoking weed. That is why they can't read. Often times, they are never in school to begin with!
I agree that teaching students who are the children of pot smoking, hooking up, losers is a no-win situation

Like welfare bum single mom, like daughter or son

But the claim that teachers are titans of education that walk on water is not going to fly either

The entire public education monopoly is rotten to the core and needs to be reformed

Who ever said that? Most teachers do not like being called drunks, druggies, lazy, fat or stupid because one or more just might be.

There is no public education monopoly. There are charter schools, parochial schools and private schools. In some cases, you have to pay for them.

I like charter schools, but only when they are run by professional educators with some knowledge of school finance.

And I like school choice which breaks the public education monopoly

If there is school choice the public teacher monopoly goes away
Charter schools are public school teachers also. Besides, public school teachers are required to be certified. Not so for private schools.

When I was teaching in Florida, several private religious schools were shown to have employed women as elementary school teachers who failed to graduate from high school.

I am not calling for more charter schools

I want real school choice that is totally out of the hands if the public education crowd

As long as the public schools are sp bad the calls for reform will not go away
But they aren't as bad as people like you make them out to be. You take examples from inner city blue cities and try to paint the rest of the schools with a broad brush. I taught in good schools, horrible school and mediocre schools. Some of these schools were in the same district.

Even our best students are falling behind the best students in other countries in math and science

Jack's bullshit just keeps growing by leaps and bounds. It started first with abject denial, then it moved onto evasive and circular arguments. Now his tank has totally run dry and he is down to juvenile statements, kiddy insults, and weak attempts at psych-ops games, so I just unplugged him, I won't let him waste my time. But even on iggy, I will see him pop up talking to other people here and there and at my choosing, will continue to refute his nonsense and remind him that he is a total crank, probably one being funded by some subversive organization, I just refuse to listen to his nonsense when there are so many intelligent, reasonable people here.
