It does show the increased authoritarianism of the right but in the end it will never pass or withstand a court.
Its not fascism, its still about keeping materials from childrens' easy access. Those bookstores can still sell the books if they have an adult section.
Secondly, its not fascism, some of the people here are gaslighting. What is fascism?? as I can see it "a bill has been introduced "and it needs to be voted on. is that really how fascism works?
This is why our system of having individual states works well. If you dont like Texas you can live in another state. This allows for people of different mindsets to all live within one country, and have those differences.
p.s.-- this still needs to go through legal process, its not fascism and its not BANNING any books. Those books can still be bought by any adult if this was to go through.

House Bill 1375 was proposed by state Representative Nate Schatzline, a
Republican, who said it is needed to keep "harmful material" away from children. Critics argue it would force bookshops to self-sensor or risk potentially devastating lawsuits.
