TikTok is essentially banned. Will Trump show he's pro-China by getting rid of the ban?

The REAL REASON tiktok is being banned with BIPARTISAN SUPPORT

(1) Another major reason banning TikTok has strong bipartisan support is that the site is being used by many young people to share information on the Israeli government’s action in Gaza. The head of the Anti-Defamation League was actually caught on tape complaining about the “TikTok problem.” This use of TikTok made TikTok a target for the many politicians who think the First Amendment makes an exception for speech critical of Israel.

Doubtful, even with TikTok banned, there are plenty of other places to post things.

"TikTok is set to be banned in the US on 19 January after the Supreme Court denied a last ditch legal bid from its Chinese owner, ByteDance."

"Can Trump overturn the ban?"

"Trump may once have sought to ban TikTok - but he has repeatedly indicated during 2024 that he is now firmly against the law, and tried unsuccessfully to get it delayed."

Trump was opposed to TikTok,

"In July 2020, then-President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, "As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States." The next month, he signed an executive order seeking to ban the app."

Then he took money from a guy who makes lots of money in China.

And all of a sudden his view on TikTok (which, ironically, is banned in China, so why does China not want it banned?) changed and he doesn't want to TikTok to be banned.

Having a president that will do anything to not anger China.... hmm.... is that what MAGA wanted?

He will suck to his Communist buddy Xi. Remember Felon47's daughter received patents from China after her dad imposed tariffsl

I doubt TikTok gets banned, the owner will make a nice contribution to Trump, Alito, and Thomas.

remember when the right chanted "CHICOM JOE CHICOM JOE" not so fast CULTISTS...

"I think that would be, certainly, an option that we look at," Trump said in a phone interview. "The 90-day extension is something that will be most likely done, because it’s appropriate. You know, it’s appropriate. We have to look at it carefully. It’s a very big situation."

CULTISTS I feel sorry for you. :)

I hate TikTok, it's going to cause huge amounts of problems.

It's banned in China, for a reason, because the Chinese don't like the lack of control to stop people posting things that cause problems to society.
What problems are those?

What problems are those?

1) When China gets to dictate what is seen and what isn't seen.

When videos that are critical of China are, not banned but much less likely to appear in people's feeds.

2) Literally just seen a post on Facebook about Rednote, the Chinese app that some people are moving to.

"Recently, American construction worker Kegan Sunell replied on Xiaohongshu that he earns US$50 per hour and approximately US$1,200 per week. Currently, this reply has been deleted. According to Kegan Sunell, the reply was not deleted by he but by the platform. Some netizens reminded him in the comment area not to discuss salary anymore, otherwise his account may be banned."

So, they'll get to dictate what comments people write, get to decide who gets banned and who doesn't based on what happens they write.

3) Allow content that is destructive to society, or even push that content. For example content that pushes for states to succeed from the Union, that pushes for social violence etc.

A lot of young people are moving to a different site... the problem is it is also run by China... believe me you don't want China to have your personal information...
I wish people would understand that....

I don't think most people care to understand that.

Most Americans have had it too good and too easy...for too long.
If it involves inconvenience then it's inconceivable.
Convenience is King.
They don't care if China gets their DNA and full info as long as it's fun and convenient.

Are you sure you didn't mean pro-1st amendment? What other amendments do you consider a threat to our security? I think all of them are suspect.

Two Words - FUCK NO!!!

looks like anti-trump searches arent what China doesnt want us to see.

Trump wasn't really anti-China, he just pretended once in a while in order to appease his supporters.

1. First of all, when he publicly asked for dirt on Hillary, he asked Russia OR China. China didn't deliver, but that's not the point.

2. His Bank of China loan.

3. Ivanka's business dealings in China.

4. He also sells swag made in China.

5. China supports Russia, why would he indirectly attack Russian interests?

Not really convinced he would do anything if China attacks Taiwan. That's just my opinion.
Also, Trump said he would put 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, but only 10% on China.

Later he promised tariffs on Taiwan, so it's hard to tell where he stands on China.

It's hard to tell where he stands on anything. He chops and changes like crazy.

He comes out after an air crash attacking diversity, essentially saying that white people rule and fuck you all you fucking minorities.

What kind of an asshole is he?
