That's the problem though, isn't it?
Republicans say they want to protect the kids, BUT.... there's always a "but", isn't there, they only want it on their terms. They want to turn every school into a fortress. They don't want to spend money on the kids' education, they want to spend money on building castles.
And even if you build these castles, it doesn't stop the killing of kids.
In 2023, around 2,444 homicide victims in the United States were aged between 20 and 24 years old.

According to this, 139 0-1 years olds were killed in the US in 2023, 203 1-4 years olds, 108 5-8 year olds, 112 9-12 year olds, 719 13-16 year olds.
That's a lot of kids, and most of them are dying to guns. 76% of murders in 2023 were committed with guns, so you're looking at, potentially 960 kids in the US, nearly three a day, being killed by guns in the US.
But, but, but, illegal immigrants. Let's hide behind them, let's crack down on illegal immigrants because they're the problem, and use it to hide the fact that guns are also a problem.
