TRUMP EFFECT: Automaker Stellantis Announces Reopening of Illinois Plant – Will Build New Trucks in Detroit

If the world learns how to maximize solar power from the sun, it would be a game changer for cars, with plug in chargers a backup. Many industries would fight solar power development.
Fields of solar panels going up in central MN, replacing farm land.
A complete eyesore, kills the landscape, leaves nothing for wildlife, and the panels are covered in snow half the year.
How efficient can that really be?
Green farm fields absorb CO2, acres of solor do not.

True, not totally green at least. But cars are green, or not, by degree. Increasingly strict emissions standards are, for instance, a good thing. EV over combustion engines is a good thing. Pretending global warming is a hoax is the height of ignorance............and thus why the orange Dotard does.
You forgot we pulled out of the Paris climate Accords.

Not a good place for that. Too cold, to much snow/ice/hail.

Now that automakers don't have to build EVs that no one will buy, they can have factories here.

Exactly why Stellantis will fail and we will eventually have to bail them out.

Europeans know nothing about the American car and truck market and what Americans expect out of their vehicles. Americans want their V8 Hemi and are revolting over the switch to a six cylinder, which is as much of a pig on gas as the 8 cylinder. Now Stellantis is considering the return of the Hemi in its trucks.

There is no such thing as a green car.
Stellantis isn't going to fail. They own more than just Ram, Jeep, etc.

The American Car/Truck Market is very tough. Very competitive. In fact, The only 'Car' Generic Motors makes is the Corvette AFAIK and Ford's only Car is the Mustang. I don't believe Stellantis makes a Car in the US anymore. At all.

My truck was made/assembled in Mexico. The engine is a Cummins and made in Indiana.

I almost bought a Ford for their aluminum body but they were too proud of it. I live in Florida so rust isn't a concern.

The problems carmakers have had are almost exclusively in Unionized American Plants where some workers are convinced they're being exploited by 'The Man'. Not all but enough. The NON-UNION Japanese Plants don't have as many problems and they sell a lot of vehicles. Cars. The Big Three own the Truck Market. Toyota tries hard but they aren't a serious contender. They make a good truck but they can't compete with Ford and Ram. Chevrolet still has its adherents and they do a better job than they used to but they're still probably #3 in Truck sales. It shifts depending.

The Big Three don't even bother with "Cars" anymore. Few people buy them anyway.

The Biggest Car Maker in the US, by Market Cap, is Musk's Tesla. Toyota is just gigantic. They concentrate on quality in a big way. They do good work if all want is a Grocery-Getter. Trucks? Ram and Ford. Ford's EcoBeast is amazing and now Ram is making an I6 with a Huffer. Not sure about the cylinder linings. That's a wait and see deal but, Stellantis has the technology so I wouldn't bet against them. Generic Motors' idea of technology is to put a colorful badge on it.

In Big trucks, the Cummins rules and everybody knows it. With Trump in Office, he may get a handle on the total, complete and absolute COMMUNISTS IN THE EPA. The most disgusting organization in the Government.

If you believe nothing I write or say ever again, believe this. The EPA is a communist organization filled with diehard communists who HATE the USA and the American People. AFAIC, it should be disbanded. Immediately

My Tundra was built in Texas and is more American than most "American" vehicles.

The Toyota Tundra is assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX) in San Antonio, Texas. The plant has been producing the Tundra since 2008.

The motor is built in the Indiana plant.

I have the 2019 which still has the 5.7 V8 which they should have stuck with over the twin turbo 6.
My '03 f150 had the 5.7 V8. It produced 265HP. My '12 f150 has the twin turbo V6. It has 375 HP.
