Clear as day. The dude is just rambling but in his ramble Trump basically proposes what Harris was accused of proposing. She didn’t.

She opposes price gouging in emergencies and illegal collusion on pricing.

Capping credit card interest @ 10% is straight up price control. Would bankrupt companies too.

Sure, Donald, let’s cap interest rates - Kevin Drum

Sigh. It just doesn't matter what he says, does it? Most likely nobody will bother reporting this. Banks won't bother protesting it. Wonky bloggers like me won't bother explaining why Trump can't do it. Conservatives will mostly ignore the fact that this really is socialism, far worse than Kamala Harris's trivial price gouging proposal. In fact, just the opposite: His enablers will suddenly produce a spate of explanations for why it's a brilliant, far-reaching, and conservative proposal.

Stuff like this is a product of intersectionality: Trump is both mentally declining and willing to say any weird thing that pops into his fevered brain. Everyone knows it, so nobody takes anything he says seriously. He's treated like a five-year-old running for president.

Oh goody, what Trump wants to do is socialism, but what Harris wants is not...how fricken brilliant of you, moron.

credit cards have destroyed more lives and families than just about anything else,,

so if this will get rid of them is a good thing

And the soldiers line up behind the Socialist Trump right above in this thread. What wont they do for him?

I remember a time when people convicted of loan sharking would have time tacked on (enhanced charge) if they were charging more than 25% interest.

Today:

The average credit card interest rate is 27.80%, according to Forbes Advisor’s weekly credit card rates report.

Damn, I'd hate to see the higher end rates!

Blah, I don't have any answers to all of that but if CC companies were banned altogether the country would be far better off for it.

Yes, she did propose price controls. She did.

Did you listen to him?.... or just see the title and posted it?....
He said place a cap on interest rates for credit cards which are four and five times the nations interest rate...
Banks have been ripping borrowers off for years... this is a good thing and its nothing like what Kamala proposed....

Of course I did. I actually consume information. You should try it. Did you read my summary?

Harris: Price gouging in emergencies and illegal collusion in prices (0% price control)

Trump: Price controls on credit (100% price controls)

That fact you chumps like Trump's real price controls but spaz our on Harris enforcing the law is joke.

I heard Trump... and what he said.... he said nothing close to what Kamala proposed.... also Obama promised the same thing with credit card rates when he ran both times... but failed to do it.... both times... I remember because I had a ton of credit card debt. in 08...

20%.... cap them at 10% or even 15% and you save the people millions... some say oh then they will only give cards to rich people which is not true... rich people pay off their cards each month its the middle class who makes the banks money with credit loans....

Trump again demonstrates that he has no understanding of sound, responsible governance and is unfit to be president.

Its a good proposal but too many elected politicians get donations from big banks for it to happen... but Trump will try... and maybe that alone will cause the banks to adjust their rates...

What a weird weird article claiming CC debt isn't a real problem, right now:

Americans continue to rack up credit card debt, hitting a record $1.14 trillion

Americans have been stretched to the max due to Harris and XIden's inflationary policies and have a record amount on their CCs.

Usury laws are nothing new in America....they date back to Roman times. Usury laws aren't price controls, they don't impact fees a leader can charge, but do set a max on the rate of interest they charge on a loan. Most every state already has usury laws. Time for the Feds to do it too. Dems have opposed such legislation, because they are owned by Wall Street

But, that rate is somehow changed to a daily rate, compounded every day.

Bottom line, minimum payments are almost all interest charge.

I remember back in the early 80s when I could not even qualify for a CC....And that was with me earning a decent wage and being a homeowner with little debt.

I made it through just fine then and if only "rich people" got them now, it would be fine by me.

In many ways, it's VERY hard to operate without at least one card now.
