Trump supporters called "garbage" by Biden, while Trump calls America a "garbage can"

You got it exactly backwards, Trump has called America a "garbage can" at least 3 times.
~~~~~~
Obviously you've never had to travel through New York Subways, walk passed the piles of smelly garbage put out on the sidewalk of a multiple story apartment complex.
Both of them, obviously, are wrong to say such things. Watching Joe stammer out his initial comment about Trump supporters was hard to watch, he finally got something out that he struggled to say coherently, and he still got it wrong and had to walk it back.
We, as a nation, are grateful, and very fortunate, that a young, energetic, and dynamic choice is working toward moving America into the 21st century and elect a woman as President and send 80 year old men to the nursing home as we move the country forward.
The energy she brought to the Ellipse at her speech last night, with 75,000 enthusiastic supporters in attendance, listened intently as Kamala Harris offered a message of hope and renewal for this great land.
God Bless America. :salute:šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡²:salute:
Biden may have handed Trump a big assist with his ā€˜garbageā€™ gaffe
"Joe Biden had largely been an afterthought one week before the election in which heā€™d once hoped to win a second term.
Not anymore.
With an imprecise attempt to defend Puerto Ricans from attacks at Donald Trumpā€™s Sunday night rally in New York, the president on Tuesday inadvertently injected himself into the home stretch of the campaign and forced Vice President Kamala Harris into clean-up mode.
The gaffe offered Trump an opening to turn headlines away from his own antics that add up to the most extreme closing argument of any modern presidential campaign.
Biden mentioned Puerto Rico, slandered as a ā€œfloating island of garbageā€ by a comedian at Trumpā€™s Madison Square Garden event. But his clumsy defense of the self-governing American territory ā€” and the vital swing voters in its diaspora on the US mainland ā€” sparked a new political firestorm and distracted from Harrisā€™ big closing argument speech against a White House backdrop on Tuesday night."
Commentary:
What a weird closing statement Harris could make and along comes Joey B to screw the pooch once more by making the statement that Americans are garbage.
Donā€™t let it die down keep pushing pushing pushing the "Garbage" label on American citizens. Donā€™t let them off the hook. Iā€™m searching through all the headlines and it looks like itā€™s dying down we are stupid if we let it die down. This is a gift, a golden egg handed to the conservative right. Keep pushing and pushing and pushing and donā€™t let up. This is what Trump meant by fight fight fight!
We can thank Joey B. for his "October Surprise".
It's fun watching th Harris campaign and KJP rearranging the deck chairs while the orchestra plays a dirge.
Thanks again Joe....
Harris made a wonderful speech in front of 75 thousand people last night on the ellipse.
We are so much better off without old people.
So lets see, we are Nazi's, KKK members, fascists, deplorables etc, and now 'garbage'.
Hopefully Republicans will use this as motivation to get to the polls!
We are not the enemy with in and we are not garbage. MAGA accusations are always confessions. You will pay on Tuesday for this.
FYI trump is the one who brought garbage into the conversation. Unfortunately Biden goofed on it and only Harris was smart enough to stay out of it.
So Biden called all Trump supporters (and American citizens " garbage? "
Mr. President, This piece of "garbage" who likes both President Trump
Vice President Kamala Harris delivered the closing argument of her campaign against Donald Trump on Tuesday, arguing that as president she would focus on delivering for everyday Americans while he would fixate on exacting revenge. She spoke before a large crowd at the same site where Trump rallied his supporters on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
A week before the end of the most turbulent and closely fought campaign in recent memory, Harris appeared on the Ellipse, surrounded by Washingtonā€™s iconic monuments to democracy, and tore into her Republican rival as un-American. She cast him as a ā€œpetty tyrantā€ and called him ā€œunstable,ā€ ā€œobsessed with revenge,ā€ ā€œconsumed with grievanceā€ and ā€œout for unchecked power.ā€
ā€œDonald Trump has spent a decade trying to keep the American people divided and afraid of each other. Thatā€™s who he is,ā€ Harris said during her 30-minute speech. ā€œBut America, I am here tonight to say: Thatā€™s not who we are.ā€
Harris spoke with the White House as a backdrop in an effort to remind voters of the stakes and of the very different ways she and Trump would serve as president. While she stressed the dangers she said Trump poses to democracy, she sought to tie those concerns to peopleā€™s day-to-day anxieties ā€” including the economy, health care and immigration ā€” in an acknowledgment that many voters may not be moved by theoretical warnings about authoritarianism.
ā€œI pledge to listen to experts, to those who will be impacted by the decisions I make ā€” and to people who disagree with me,ā€ Harris said. ā€œUnlike Donald Trump, I donā€™t believe people who disagree with me are the enemy. He wants to put them in jail. Iā€™ll give them a seat at my table.ā€
More than two hours before the speech, thousands of people were lined up for more than a mile waiting to enter. Most of downtown Washington was shut down as throngs of supporters came to see Harris at one of her final events, in a city that typically does not get high-profile visits from presidential candidates.
The visuals of the crowd were of American flags and ā€œUSAā€ signs ā€” not the usual Harris-Walz signs more common at the vice presidentā€™s campaign rallies. It was an effort to signal that the event was patriotic and not strictly partisan, and to cast Harris supporters as the ones who respect democratic norms ā€” in contrast to Trump, whose supporters gathered on the same spot before attacking the U.S. Capitol.
Did it ever occur to you that Ms Kamala Harris was exaggerating with trash talk against her formidable political who is a kindhearted man, a former President, and is more pro-American than people who twist lies into the real world. Her calling President Trump "un-American" is as blatant as lies can get.
President Trump's goals are to prosper the men and women who make America the best country on the planet, and the Trump family is an all-American just like the American citizens who discuss politics on USMB. I reverse and wish all our USMB Board members nothing but the best and most caring, creative, and efficient debaters with no fear of dictatorship or class,
Both parties and independents who contribute their opinions show that freedom of speech works to clear the air in opinion differences, and all are mostly heard fairly and are good if not great Americans. Kudos to all who post here at USMB. Thanks for sharing your ideas with all who post and/or read at USMB. It's an honor I have for those who contribute their points of view with all of us who love this country and the men and women who fought for human freedom, intelligence, and creativity we read when here. I love this board and those who made it happen for the winning benefit of American debates that clearly reveal what freedom of speech is all about.
I heart all of you.
FYI trump is the one who brought garbage into the conversation. Unfortunately Biden goofed on it and only Harris was smart enough to stay out of it.
First, a self-proclaimed comedian at Donald Trumpā€™s Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday described Puerto Rico as a ā€œfloating island of garbage.ā€ And then, on Tuesday, President Joe Biden made a comment that sounded like he viewed Trumpā€™s supporters themselves as garbage.
Trumpworld scrambled to distance itself from the racist remark by Tony Hinchcliffe: ā€œThis joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,ā€ said a senior adviser. So did a host of other Republicans.
Given how many other offensive things Trump and his supporters say on a near hourly basis, their attempts at disinfection were more laughable than the joke was. Was what Hinchcliffe said about Puerto Ricans, who are citizens of this country, any more out of line than what Trump himself said last week in Arizona? Amid yet another tirade about immigrants, the former president had declared this entire country to be ā€œa dumping ground. Weā€™re like a garbage can for the world. Thatā€™s whatā€™s happened. Weā€™re like a garbage can."
But Trumpā€™s rally also might have opened an electoral opportunity for Vice President Kamala Harris. The key swing state of Pennsylvania happens to be home to the nationā€™s fourth-largest Puerto Rican population. Democrats thought they had finally, belatedly, been handed the means with which they could halt the inroads that Trump has been making with Latino voters.
Then, enter Biden. He made his own contribution to the trash heap at a virtual event to rally Latino supporters. ā€œThe only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His ā€” his ā€” his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and itā€™s un-American.ā€
Bidenā€™s timing could hardly have been worse, coming as Harris was preparing to take the stage on Tuesday to deliver the closing argument of her presidential campaign to upward of 52,000 people who had gathered on the Ellipse and the National Mall.
Hers was meant to be a unifying message. ā€œWe have to stop pointing fingers and start locking arms,ā€ Harris said. ā€œI pledge to listen to experts, to those who will be impacted by the decisions I make, and to people who disagree with me. Unlike Donald Trump, I donā€™t believe people who disagree with me are the enemy. He wants to put them in jail. Iā€™ll give them a seat at the table.ā€
White House officials insisted that the president was referring only to the comedian. They released a transcript in which the word ā€œsupportersā€ had an apostrophe before the S.
However, as the comment sounded on video, it seemed to echo Democratic nominee Hillary Clintonā€™s declaration in 2016 that ā€œyou could put half of Trumpā€™s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.ā€ The former secretary of state wrote more recently in The Post that ā€œif anything, ā€˜deplorableā€™ is too kind a word for the hate and violent extremism weā€™ve seen from some Trump supporters.ā€
Harris, however, needs to win over some independents and Republicans. And the scorn that many feel from what they regard as elitist Democrats has long been a driving force in their allegiance to Trump.
As Harris headed out on Wednesday to campaign in battleground states, she was questioned about Bidenā€™s remark. "First of all, he clarified his comments, but let me be clear: I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,ā€ she said.
Unsurprisingly, that did not put things to rest with the Trump campaign, which posted on social media: ā€œShe wonā€™t condemn it because she agrees with it.ā€
This has not exactly been an uplifting election season. So, if this is how the last few days of the campaign are going to go, I guess no one should be surprised. Garbage in, garbage out.
Say leftists, today is a good day to exercise good judgement. See if you're up to the challenge. No doubt most are going to be crickets, leftists don't much care about truth, because they have their feelings to concern themselves with. Aint that right IM#2?
A comedian who commonly gets a laugh for jokes on racism called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. Doesn't matter if advised or not, Trump had no part in this.
Vs
The President of the United States says Trump supporters are garbage.
Which is the worse offense?
