There have been laws on the books since the late 1940s about deporting people that come into the US by means other than using the proper procedures. Other countries have similar laws as well.

Why wasn't this guy on border patrol's watch list?

Border patrol vets EVERY PERSON caught at the border....and let's in only those that meet their criteria as asylum seekers, the rest not making the list are deported. Almost 50% encountering the border are denied entry and deported.

So either this guy was not on their terrorist list, or they did a crappy job while interviewing him that needs improvement and better training on the border agent's part.

Trump DEFIED A COURT ORDER, to not ship him to ElSalvador. He could have deported him to any other country.

Trump broke the law. Do you get it now? It has nothing to do with whether Garcia is a bad guy...it has to do with the Court Order being ignored and BROKEN. Trump can't choose on his own to just deny a Court order....

there was and is a legal process for him to petition the court to remove the court order protection which also gives Garcia's lawyers a chance to say why the court protection order, should not be removed.... A neutral arbitrator, the judge, once both sides present their case and reasoning, decides.

Trump has also denied the 9 to 0 supreme court ruling that Trump needs to facilitate Garcia's return, so that hearing due before deportation of him to the country he was legally protected from being sent, takes place in the USA.
