"A strange planet called Venus was home to a race of super-intelligent humanoid apes led by an emperor-monkey named Cornelius. Venus was visited by human astronauts from NASA who realized Venus had evolved very differently from Earth! As Cornelius contemplated how to 'treat' what he referred to as 'monkey-like man-creatures' (whether or not to treat them as 'diplomats' of 'slaves'), the human NASA astronauts brooded about how to escape from Venus and from the clutches of these planet-ruling apes and return safely to Earth(!). Cornelius concluded that the apes of Venus should evaluate what these 'humans' do for entertainment and comfort (so that they could learn about how this similar but different species coordinated priorities regarding luxury and ambition!)."

"A young African-American girl in an American inner-city named 'Crooklyn' (her real name was Ayesha, but she was given the nickname 'Crooklyn' since she was a pickpocket and was born in Brooklyn!). Crooklyn tried to work with her numbers-running dad, Albert, to organize enough money to fund a street baseball summer youth league. The purpose of the league was to create optimism about life in the inner-city, and Crooklyn felt desperate to make it work (so she robbed a store with a pistol her dad gave her to get some extra 'funds'). As May approached, Crooklyn and Albert discovered they had the sufficient money to fund this summer youth-baseball league. However, Crooklyn wondered if all this 'summer hoopla' was worth all the controversial effort!"

"When the human NASA astronauts returned safely to Earth (having escaped the clutches of the ape-emperor Cornelius on Venus), they discovered that the new Ridley Scott sci-fi horror-film Alien: Covenant was in theaters and was very popular and well-reviewed by prominent film-critics such as Roger Ebert. Alien: Covenant was about human space-explorers(!) engaging with a vicious predatory intelligent alien species and coming to terms with the frailty of evolution as it related to destiny itself! The human NASA astronaut Thomas Jacobs decided to see the film in a NYC movie-theatre that July, and he noticed a young African-American girl in the theatre during the show (named Crooklyn!); he asked her, 'Why is this sci-fi horror-movie important/appealing to you (you're so young!)?' to which she confidently replied, 'I've been raising money for a baseball league this summer, so my dad gave me money to watch this sci-fi film; I think Alien: Covenant represents America'!"

GOD: Jacobs and Crooklyn have formed an odd friendship!
SATAN: They're both fans of Alien: Covenant.
GOD: Jacobs learned about cruelty on Venus (from Cornelius).
SATAN: That 'planet of apes' was symbolic of governance corruption!
GOD: Crooklyn learned about the 'complexity' of inner-city programs.
SATAN: She wondered about the limits of American dreams...
GOD: Maybe Trump should send soldiers to Venus to colonize the apes.
SATAN: Maybe Trump should focus on the domestic problems in American inner-cities.
GOD: It's challenging balancing human ambition with 'life economics.'
SATAN: Maybe that's why we indulge in the daydreams of movies!
GOD: Let's go watch Working Girl on Netflix...
SATAN: It's better to indulge the imagination rather than the appetite.
GOD: Cornelius will remember what he learned about pity...
SATAN: Crooklyn will remember what she learned about passion...
GOD: Perhaps Trump will enhance the diplomacy-scope of the U.S. military forces.
SATAN: Isn't that the 'mission' of capitalism (in theory)?
