Thank you for mentioning ethnic minorities. I am from Republic of Sakha. We were colonized by Russia 1632. Despite all efforts of Russians to assimilate and destroy our culture we still managed to save our language and culture. We still can speak fluently in our own language. Our language, culture and religiion completely different from Russian. We Asian looking people our ancestors inhabited Siberia for more than 2000 years before the Russian conquest.
