There were several of them in different locations around Los Angeles, but the original one that was shaped like a "hat" was the landmark spot on Wilshire Blvd, that was the one I used to go to.

There were at one time at least 3 with the Derby Motif ( one was in northeastern Mid Wilshire area )
 
I used to think Togo's had great sandwiches, but then I discovered the Sandwich Shop in Modesto. By far the best deli sandwiches anywhere.
Well, this place I went to is a private shop, and they slice the meats by hand, right in front of you, and its at least 1/4 pound of meat on those sandwiches.

I loved the BBQ turkey.

When I was there, one sandwich was $5.00, and if you cut it in half, it would last you for lunch and dinner.

I'm sure they are more expensive now, but he cooks his own meats there in the shop and everything is done by hand as you order it right there.
