I didn't know about a chain. The only one I knew of was the original at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood. I knew a guy that lived in a dump about a block away.I pretty sure the Original ones are long gone ( I was a pre teen when eating at one ( now 65 )

There were several of them in different locations around Los Angeles, but the original one that was shaped like a "hat" was the landmark spot on Wilshire Blvd, that was the one I used to go to.I pretty sure the Original ones are long gone ( I was a pre teen when eating at one ( now 65 )
There were at one time at least 3 with the Derby Motif ( one was in northeastern Mid Wilshire area )There were several of them in different locations around Los Angeles, but the original one that was shaped like a "hat" was the landmark spot on Wilshire Blvd, that was the one I used to go to.
Well, this place I went to is a private shop, and they slice the meats by hand, right in front of you, and its at least 1/4 pound of meat on those sandwiches.I used to think Togo's had great sandwiches, but then I discovered the Sandwich Shop in Modesto. By far the best deli sandwiches anywhere.
Maybe 40+ years ago.............but not today.
