When do the mass resignations begin?

Trump Officials Fire Jan. 6 Prosecutors and Plan Possible F.B.I. Purge

The Trump administration plans to scrutinize thousands of F.B.I. agents involved in Jan. 6 investigations, setting the stage for a possible purge that goes far beyond the bureau’s leaders to target rank-and-file agents, according to internal documents and people familiar with the matter.

The proposal came on a day that more than a dozen prosecutors at the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington who had worked on cases involving the Jan. 6 riot were told that they were being terminated.

The moves were a powerful indication that Mr. Trump has few qualms deploying the colossal might of federal law enforcement to punish perceived political enemies, even as his cabinet nominees offered sober assurances they would abide by the rule of law. Forcing out both agents and prosecutors who worked on Jan. 6 cases would amount to a wide-scale assault on the Justice Department.

On Friday, interim leaders at the department instructed the F.B.I. to notify more than a half-dozen high-ranking career officials that they faced termination, according to a copy of an internal memo obtained by The New York Times.

Seeing as the investigation in to the J6 riot was the biggest in FBI history there may not be anyone left to resign if Dotard purges all the agents involved.

In practical terms, agents who participated in the attempt to identify the members of trump's mob who beat Officer Fanone will be fired. Just one of a number of impeachable offenses Baby Donald has committed in less than two weeks.

Bondi Gets Right To Work Weaponizing DOJ

In a blizzard of some 14 memos, newly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi set the Justice Department on a perilous new course. Among the most directives:

  • investigate former Special Counsel Jack Smith;
  • de-emphasize FARA enforcement; and
  • serve President Trump as “his lawyers,” a devastating blow to DOJ independence and its prior historic role.

As Pam carries out Dotard's instructions to weaponize the DoJ against his perceived enemies, I imagine employees of the dept. are, as the saying goes, on the horns of a dilemma.

One the one hand, they don't want to be associated with this level of overt destruction/corruption of the dept. Or the demands to come putting them at odds with ethics and the law. OTOH, they may feel compelled to stay, if they can, to prevent the DoJ from being infested by even more trump lackeys. Thereby trying to maintain some semblance of integrity at Main Justice.

If I were Hakeem Jefferies, assuming Dems take back the House in 2026, I would immediately move to impeach both Bondi and Emil Bove.

As Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas administered her oath in the Oval Office on Wednesday, Bondi vowed to restore order and told Trump she would not let him down.
“I will make you proud, and I will make this country proud,” Bondi said. “I will restore integrity to the Justice Department
(it doesn't need to be restored), and I will fight violent crime throughout this country and throughout this world, and make America safe again.”

So, she's already established herself as a fucking liar.

Don needs to do his part and get everyone out of the government that knows how to do their jobs.

Three top federal prosecutors resign after refusing to drop Adams charges

The top federal prosecutor in New York and two senior federal prosecutors in Washington have resigned after refusing to follow a Justice Department order to drop the corruption charges against New York City mayor Eric Adams, multiple officials said Thursday.

The resignations amount to a stunning public rebuke of the new Justice Department leadership of the Trump administration in one of the country's most high-profile criminal cases.

The departures come after Emil Bove, the acting U.S. deputy attorney general, issued a memo Monday ordering federal prosecutors in New York to drop the case against Adams arguing, in part, that it hampered his ability to tackle “illegal immigration and violent crime."

Danielle R. Sassoon, the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced her resignation in a brief statement to colleagues on Thursday, the senior official said.

The day before, Sassoon appealed to Attorney General Pam Bondi Wednesday to express her alarm at being ordered to drop the case, according to a letter obtained by NBC News. Sassoon wrote to Bondi that she had attended a meeting on Jan. 31, 2025, with Bove, Adams’ counsel Alex Spiro and members of her office.

Unfortunately, it's exactly the kind of people who have resigned in protest in reaction to trump's corruption that we need to have stay in their jobs if there is to be any hope the weaponization of the DoJ currently taking place doesn't infect the entire Dept.

For those of you who will reflexively accuse Sassoon of being part of the evil, radical Left, deep state you should know she clerked for Scalia.

In order for trump to still have something hanging over Adams' head to ensure his sycophancy trump has moved the case out of SDNY to Main Justice.

Sassoon's letter to Bondi mentions her office was working on a superseding indictment including information that Adams destroyed evidence and lied to FBI investigators.

For those of you who are keeping score there are now 6 attorneys from the department of justice who have resigned in refusal to drop the Adams corruption case.

To date, the trump justice department has yet to find anybody who is willing to go before a judge and ask for the charges to be dismissed.

Impeachment is dead in the Senate because we learned from experience Repub senators have the capacity to ignore legal violations and abuses of power by Dear Leader.

Order to Drop Adams Case Prompts Resignations in New York and Washington

Manhattan’s U.S. attorney on Thursday resigned rather than obey an order from a top Justice Department official to drop the corruption case against New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams.

Then, when Justice Department officials transferred the case to the public integrity section in Washington, which oversees corruption prosecutions, the two men who led that unit also resigned, according to five people with knowledge of the matter.

Several hours later, three other lawyers in the unit also resigned, according to people familiar with the developments.

The serial resignations represent the most high-profile public opposition so far to President Trump’s tightening control over the Justice Department. They were a stunning repudiation of the administration’s attempt to force the dismissal of the charges against Mr. Adams.

If these were ordinary times Bove would be forced to resign due to his involvement in an overt act of corruption. In the error of trumpery corruption is the point.
