Zone1 Who created all things?

This can't be used as evidence:

Genesis 3:16 (The Curse on Eve after the Fall):
  • "To the woman he said, 'I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.'" (NIV)
Christianity no longer believes that Genesis is literally true.

What "lesson"?
She's referring to the lesson taught by Genesis in general. The Christians' answer is vague because they don't really mean that evolution has sent creation to the garbage bin, but they know it's true nonetheless.

Does it matter to them that A & E and creation has been discarded?

It may be that nothing in the world matters quite as much to them?

Atheism didn't shoot all their toes off., their own church did. They should be reminded often! I did and I was rewarded by her with not having to hear any whining rebuttals!

I came here a few weeks back from another site that has gone off the deep end with far-left monitors suspending and banning conservatives and am not familiar with the people here yet. ding and Meriweather are both devout Catholics who think they somehow found the golden key to heaven, dismissing the hundreds of other Christian denominations, Islam, and all other belief systems as inferior to the one they believe in which they imagine guarantees them a slot in some barely described place called heaven when they depart here.

I liked the nuns that taught me. So devout and meek and when I was young I questioned the statues, the kneeling till my back ached and watched them in a nearly empty church doing the signs of the cross as I was, all getting up at the same time and moving away. It looked like cultists in robes as I recall it now and I asked myself "What if they are wrong?" I suppressed such notions out of fear because they taught not to question God's ways.

I maintained my beliefs until my twenties and when I thought "I don't believe in this bible God anymore" I was in stark fear because I knew the repercussions. That is the incredible hold that being told you must believe has on people. I debated Christians at CARM for many years. The owner there is Matt Slick, a bible expert, and his mission is to train new apologists by insisting is interpretations are the right ones. He's a Calvinist which is even worse than a Catholic when it comes to being narcissistic that you cornered the truth.

I know that many ardent believers like these two are unshakable. They are taught to be that way and it is a virtue and pleasing to "God". They think they can bring people with them and it becomes a mission. They interpret what the bible says the way they were taught by their elders and merely puppet the gaslighting like someone who burns Teslas because they were told Musk is bad and they think they are sticking it to Musk.

I will have to do fewer interactions in the Christian area. When they insist that all scripture is inspired by God but can't say how that happens or where the proof is there is a problem with their thought process. They then say that prophecies came true (which they were told) but when I ask for a sample one, they run away because their contentions that a prophecy came true are ridiculous and spurious and shoehorn in any even they want to no matter that it doesn't come close o matching a prophecy. Even the claim that Jesus is/was the predicted savior falls under scrutiny of alleged bible predictions and lineage.

Oh, great. Yet another person who comes online claiming they know what I am doing. Surprise, no I do not dismiss other belief systems, quite the contrary. They certainly are not inferior. Nor do I believe, let alone imagine I'm guaranteed anything. I'll step away so you can continue uninterrupted with your own imaginary Meriweather. I tried, but I am truly tired of this.

That makes two of us. You are the Jordan Peterson of the forum, talking in riddles and euphemisms and vagaries. It's like trying to grab a ball of jello in your hand.

Thanks for a bit of a look at the abuse going on inside the catholic church!
Ding and Meri are different characters to deal with, in that Ding is enlightened to the truth while Meri is acting more like a missionary for her church. The fun to be had with Ding is that he is susceptible to hearing how the truth causes him anger every time! That's because he knows the truth about his fake religion but can't tolerate being reminded.

With Meri, I notice that she is going to play her ignore game with you for a while. All that means to her is that she will answer to your points by pretending to talk to some other. Have some fun with that! And have a lot more fun with Ding and his problem of being too smart to not believe in science's contradictions of most everything he's told by his religion.

He can't escape from his personal devil and so he'll keep coming back for more!

It is a truism that former believers who left religion are the most feared by Christians and I have heard every story and excuse ever uttered because I am an avid reader and listener to atheists debate not just mere Christians but apologists and priests. I have spent countless years debating them myself. The main oddity is that they have been told that the bible is somehow inspired by their creator. When asked how that occurred you get no answer. Presumably, their god whispered in the ear of Moses and scores of other unknown writers over the centuries, and yet there is not one ounce of proof of this. Then we get to the NT which is really Paulianity and crafted by a devious guy who craved attention and adulation after being scorned by others for arresting Christians and watching one get killed. With zero witnesses and corroboration, he contends he had a vision of Jesus and saw bright lights and who knows what all. The people he supposedly were with certainly didn't verify his vision.

In spite of that, he gained a huge following himself like the Pied Piper, and talked about Jesus wanting a new gig. No more human or animal sacrifices and all you gotta do is "believe". It didn't matter what your "works" in this life. Just a belief that Jesus was God and you're in. Not only that, all those OT laws? They were out the window now and you need is love, true love. Love is all you need.

In a day and time when religiosity ran amok and visions were eaten up like stupid people believing a king in Africa was giving away a million if you sent him a hundred bucks earnest money, those who didn't like being Jewish or following crazy ass laws signed up like people getting free tickets to see Elvis who was said to still be alive.

The crazies say that the New Testament is ALSO inspired and the word of God. When asked why they refer to what Paul said when he said "All scripture is inspired and blah blah blah. Yet, he couldn't have been referring to the New Testament as it had not yet been written!! Ask them about this and you get the deer in the headlights look.

Almost 300 years go by and Constantine the heinous murderer colludes with the cult leaders to allow Christianity and builds them churches. He and they did this to solidify power and control with an invisible sky daddy god, relieving them from having to execute so many people every day.
