Why do America's top officials hate Europe?

Observing overseas commentary, that's one of the big questions our former friends have today. They may not have noticed it before, but with the news on "SignalGate", it's now out in the open for all to see.

Some of them are angry, some are hurt, but most just don't understand what has happened. They're searching for answers.

For those here who are interested in having an honest conversation on this, what is your best guess?

One theory I've seen is that America is now advancing an oligarchical nationalism, whereas Europe is certainly to the Left of that, and that MAGA is simply trained to hate anyone not like them.

Could that be one answer?

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out. Republicans are sick of most of Europe's liberal/socialist policies and using the US to foot the bill for Europe's defense and Climate Change (under democrats). Republicans also don't like Europe's unfair trade practices. So, of course, Europe's leaders are upset that their gravy train and sugar daddy has come to an end.

Trump and his acolytes are anti-american and therefore prefer to tear down the relationship with all allies in favor of a world dominated by Putin and Xi.

What "socialist policies"? Europe despite its weaknesses is a relatively free region and a true ally of America. The real issue is that Maga has no problems with authoritarianism at all, in fact they look to the actual non-free regimes of Europe (Russia and Hungary) as ideals.

You mean that country of Jews who Hitler, Muslims, and democrats are trying to wipe off the face of the Earth and you are OK with that? While we do aid Israel, they provide for much of their own defense, unlike European countries. And, European countries also provide them with aid.

What "socialist policies"? Europe despite its weaknesses is a relatively free region and a true ally of America. The real issue is that Maga has no problems with authoritarianism at all, in fact they look to the actual non-free regimes of Europe (Russia and Hungary) as ideals.

The only authoritarianism we had was under democrats, who gave us mandates we had to follow and papers we had to show whenever we went out in public. They also weaponized the justice system to go after political opponents and tried to take them off ballots. After the Nov election, CNN did a poll which showed that out of the voters whose number one reason for voting was to save democracy, 58% of those voters voted for Trump. We kicked the authoritarianism of the democrats out.

Because the EU are leeches. Not hard to understand. We have paid for their defense for decades. They also rip us off in trade and tariffs. Maybe they could pay their way?
