From the Genesis to Proverbs to Paul statements critical of women abound. Thoughts?

because it was written in a time women were 100% dependent on men for protection and sustenance,,

it was only around the early 1900s that women could provide for themselves and even then as it is now theres very little they can do for themselves without the help of men,,

Study Paul's words on marriage OP.

Specifically, there's a message for and to the men, and there's a message for and to the women.

Might add some much needed perspective on the topic.

I like 1 Timothy 2 which takes the subject back to the garden.

not being able to eat bacon or god will smite thee is shirley a batshit crazy concept.

written by a dude.
You're able to eat bacon. It's your funeral. Your parasites. Your heart disease. Your cancer.

Dad yelled at me when he saw me reaching for that pretty red stove top. He said I can't touch it! Why is Dad so mean?!

Not true at all....
But
The world was ruled by men.
Might made "right" according to Alexander the Great.

Women were considered to be one half step above property. But the children's ethnicity was determined by women and tribe or caste was determined by the husband.

There are several books and Chapters devoted to women in scripture. Ruth, Esther, and even the 31st Proverb. There are other significant women in scriptures. Such as Priscilla, Lydia, Phoebe, as well as Prophetesses, Judge's, and etc.

So where the cultural norms were one thing but God made it clear that Men and Women were equals however different or valued by men.

Men and women are equals as single people. Once married, he is the "head" (in the church anyway). That doesn't make the wife the "tail", it just means that she isn't the head. Proverbs 31 reveals that wives have huge opportunities as well as responsibilities.

God told Eve that she (and thus women since) would "eat dirt" and "have kids". Paul states that women's redeeming value is in motherhood.

Ummmm.....no
The serpent was to eat dust.
The woman was to have suffering but she would love her husband.

Both man and woman together were to be fruitful and multiply.

Man is the household leader so long as he is leading the family towards God....not anywhere or anyone or anything else. If He isn't leading that way...he is not the leader.
Patriarchal leadership is about redistribution of wealth and resources to everyone from the weakest to the strongest in an equitable and necessary manner. It was to see that EVERYONE'S needs were met by the provisions the ENTIRE family produced. Even the weakest had duties and responsibilities...like weaving or sewing or mending clothes but could seek the Father for redress of needs. Patriarchal leadership has been renamed "Servant Leadership".

The 'serpent' was within Eve and part of Eve just as Satan was within Peter. That why God directed his words to both, but only Eve had the physical ability to eat dust and give birth as described; "go on your belly" (see the Hebrew definition of belly).
