They're under the complete misconception that Russia versus Ukraine is tyranny versus freedom. Nothing could be further from the truth. There's nothing Democratic about Ukraine which happens to have one of the worst human rights violations records in Europe maybe even worse than Russia.

1. Becaue russia is slowing gaining ground.

2. Because Ukraine has also lost a lot of people and is still losing people.

3. Becuase ukraine is unlikely to be able to eject russia forces from ukrainian soil without... many years of more fighting.

Dominance as you speak of is only after Ukraine recovers all of it's property and also keeps property it took away from Russia. Crimea included back to Ukraine.
