This is in New York, a place with extreme gun control. How extreme...you have to be rich and able to pay for a lawyer to exercise your right to carry a gun for self defense...unless you are a criminal. In that case, you just carry a gun and murder police officers...

See....if you just lock this guy up for all the other gun crimes he was caught committing, he wouldn't have been out of jail to murder this police officer.....so guns aren't the problem, our criminal thug culture is...
The criminals in Europe can get guns just as easily as American criminals can....they prefer fully automatic military rifles over there....and grenades, especially in Sweden.....but they just don't shoot them at people that often....their thug culture is changing, though...they are starting to shoot more often.
Perhaps we could have some of the European thugs come over and do seminars for our thugs about why they don't need to shoot people with their guns?
Indeed, one of the ways Mr. Howard knew the officer approaching him on a darkened pathway of F.D.R. Drive — besides by the silver shield dangling from his neck — was that they had encountered each other before, the police said. Mr. Howard had 23 arrests as an adult, including one in connection with a shootout in June 2009 on a basketball court in the East River Houses that wounded two bystanders: an 11-year-old boy and a 77-year-old man. (The case did not go forward, officials said, because prosecutors were unable to present any witnesses who could identify Mr. Howard.)
See....if they had just locked him up on this one or any of the 23 other ones......he would have been in jail...
The other problem we have is prosecutors and judges who let these criminals out of jail with short sentences, or by not pursuing the obvious gun charges......that is also the problem.
Do you know what isnt' the problem....normal gun owners......they are not shooting police officers or racking up 23 arrests.......that is the American gun problem....violent criminals....
