It seems scientific to me to talk of Earth as a bit of Rock as you say rather than a living thing with man in charge of the rock. I saw a claim the oceans temperature rose 1.5 degrees F and frankly that is not alarming at all. Keep in mind that temperatures of the oceans varies by location. Where the poles are it is very cold. Where the tropics are it is warmer. How difficult is it to make claims about the ocean when there are so many of them?
