Though islamofascist jihadis are not deterred, the local government needs to pay for not acting.

IDF attacks Yemen 2nd day in a row
IDF: "We have completely shut down the airport in Sanaa".
The airport, like the port of Hodeidah that was attacked last night, is used by the Houthis for the transfer of weapons and operatives, and is routinely operated by the regime for terrorist purposes.

Why would anyone in their right mind what to fly into Yemen in the first place?

It would be like flying into Somalia in the late 90's early 2000's.

Great question. The same reason no one would want to go to shitty Gaza [after Israel gave away Gush Katif in 2005. A huge mistake] or even "moderate" Ramallah.

When you have a portion of your country controlled by a faction not part of the government I would call it civil war, even if it's on pause while one side launches rockets and drones at international shipping and Israel.

From what I see it's because the remaining government has decided to leave the Houthis alone because they are gunning for others.

more like the remaining government is very weak---not gunning
at all, to wit----DA HOUTHIS NOW HAVE DA UPPER HAND

If you stay in the tourist areas it's no worse than the tourist areas of NYC.

I'd be more worried in Chicago.
sometime ago I have young visitors from abroad---they wanted to
GO BY THEMSELVES ---to "da city" <<< that means MANHATTAN.
I restrained them physically and by force

During the day and if you stay below 96th street and above 14th street you are perfectly safe.

Below 14th it becomes hit and miss.

true----there is safety in the never ending crowds of Times Square

Pickpockets are always a risk in crowds, but violent criminals typically avoid such crowded places.

Next time, before they go, show them the movie Escape From New York and tell them itโ€™s the current local newscast.

The Houthis' maritime trade is in the crosshairs: The IDF spokesman in Arabic, Avichai Adraee, issued an extraordinary warning this evening (Sunday) to residents of three seaports in Yemen controlled by the Houthi rebels, calling on them to evacuate. "This is an urgent and important warning. "In light of the use that the Houthi terrorist regime is making of seaports for the benefit of its terrorist activity, we urge everyone who is in the ports to evacuate them and stay away from them until further notice," Adraee clarified.
