When I was in the Marines there were 3 types of married Marines when we were on deployment.

The first were those with rules like "after 50 miles nobody is married" and "what happens on deployment stays on deployment". These were the guys that were looking for it the first night on deployment. Typically their wives were the ones you would see in the E Club after a unit left for deployment.

The 2nd were those that had faith in their ability to say NO. They thought they could put themselves in situation where they were tempted but would be strong enough to say no. After a few drinks most men cannot say no. These guys often ended up cheating on their wives and then feeling shitty about it.

Then there were the 3rd type that were smart enough not to have faith in being able to say no to temptation and stayed away from where it could be. Those of us of this type normally came back from a 6 month deployment is amazing shape as we had lots of spare time for PT
