Even then, most agencies put rookies on the street with a seasoned officer, who reports to the rooks Field Training Officer. At anytime during the rooks probationary period (in my agency, one year) the badge and gun can be taken away and no reason given ("sorry, not everyone is cut out for this job. Good-Bye - and there is no right to an appeal).

Paid professionals always do what those who sign their paycheck tell them to do, and a paid police and military is what always causes a dictatorship, like the KGB, Savik, Kapos, Gestapo, Stazi, Tantan Maque, etc.

I have frequently seen police pull and point guns at people who are unarmed and not at all threatening, which is a felony.
The police can not legally do that. It is reckless endangerment to wave a gun in someone's direction, as it can easily go off just from a startling noise. They are stupid and illegal.
The red flag laws are allowing property to be taken without the ability to face one's accusers in court, which is a basic violation of law.
And they are incredibly stupid because the last thing anyone should want to do if someone is at all unstable or over wrought, is to show up at their home and demand their guns. That almost ensures a violent outcome that might not have been necessary. Clearly is a person is a danger, it is the person you arrest, not illegal break into their home and try to take anything that might be dangerous. They will be ensured to want revenge for such a violation of privacy and property.
