Today's news announced a $550million lottery powerball prize -- which I feel is analogous to the negative aspect of capitalistic motivation in that its excessive nature tends to stimulate the greed impulse which causes millions of Americans to stand on lines to buy tickets. I doubt these same people would stand on line to buy tickets for a $25million powerball.
I personally believe the maximum powerball prize should be $25million, which would leave the winner with an after-taxes prize of around twenty million dollars -- which I also believe should be the maximum allowable accumulation of personal assets (I'm a modern socialist). And rather than a $550million powerball, that accumulated award money should be divided into 22 separate $25million prizes, so instead of one $550million winner there would be twenty-two $25million winners.
Anyone agree with me?
