Tomorrow is just another day to a few, a footnote at best, yet to many it should represent the ultimate triumph of freedom over servitude and evil. The sacrifice of so many young men and women in defense of our freedom, religion, and democracy, we so cherish, and way of life that we take for granted, rested upon their shoulders. A generation that answered the call with honor and resolve that met those challenges with unselfish dedication and sacrifice. Take time tomorrow to pay tribute to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, for if not for them and the few survivors that remain, of that greatest generation we would have nothing! Set your politics aside and pay tribute!
Semper Fidelis, God Bless America!

We had to stop the Nazis and Imperial Japan, but then we threw away the victory and let the Communists enslave billions of people after it was all over.

Why is this "funny"?

I thought you leftists hated Russia now.

Great post and so true.

The average age of Americans fighting was 19. They were indeed the greatest generation.

That truly was a great generation. This new generation is going to go down as one of the best as well. Unreal productivity and work ethics.

Actually, the average age of an American soldier in WWll was 26. Many were young fathers and many had already begun marriages and careers.

If you haven't seen "Saving Private Ryan" or watched "The Band of Brothers" lately, please re-watch.
They are great reminders how great the greatest generation truly was.

Sorry to break wind here, but every generation is worse than the one before it. Been that way since the greatest generation. I don't know how you came to the conclusion our "new" generation is worth a comparison, but I know it's self-serving.
