American Manufacturers Overwhelmed With Orders After Trump’s Tariff Crackdown On China

The reason cheapskate companies went overseas is because they didn't believe in america and it's laborers. Saying higher wages cause inflation is simply wanting wage suppression on the greatest most productive workers in the world. The current American workforce has the best work ethic in this nations history.

The reason companies went overseas is because third world country labour is paid less than American labor and there were few labor laws or environmental regulations.

Employers used the threat of off-shoring to bully unions into making wage and benefits concessions.

Reagan promised workers that they'd all get a big raise when the unions were gone. The unions are pretty much gone, but the workers are still waiting for that big raise. They're also waiting for the raise that Trump promised when he cut corporate income tax rates.

Now Trump says the workers have to "take their medicine" in the form of paying tariffs for "long term gain".

When do the wealthy oligarchs who have benefitted from every Republican economic crash which impoverished working Americans have to "take their medicine"?

How does this matter?

I mean everybody knew it was gonna happen.

It's not some huge victory.

It won't make any difference to the coming crash.

They don't have the capacity to make up the shortfalls.
It's weird that you don't think American businesses getting overrun with orders is a victory. Why do you hate American businesses so much?

What about the stuff we don’t make and the orders that can’t be satisfied? It takes years to build plants. One “feelz gud” article doesn’t change international trade facts.
just using progressive tactics of baby steps and playing the long game,,

our children deserve that,,

Fixing things should be rather easy. A recession isn't inevitable. No american citizens need to "feel any pain".
Except little girls who are used to getting 30 dolls on Xmas will only be getting 2 this year.

And you. You may have to choose a shitty microwave oven when yours breaks because you won't be able to afford a good one.

And not only will your kid only get 2 dolls those two dolls will cost "a couple bucks more" than the 30 did.

So I wonder how much your microwave is going to cost?

Imagine if Kamala did this and told you to suck it up like he has.

It's weird you didn't want American EV companies to get overrun with orders. Why did you hate American business' so much when we were trying to force you to buy their products?

That will take longer

But we should not buy from china

India, Thailand, Vietnam are just 3 of many substitutes for Made in China

It doesn't take years to build manufacturing plants. Many buildings are available for manufacturing, and many plants can increase production, by adding new lines or going to 3 shifts.
There are already towns all across this country loaded with vacant structures in need of renovation, ready for repurposing.

During the campaign everything was positive and upbeat. Now it’s about hurt and foggy timelines. I know politicians often over promise, but I thought Trump was different! :dunno:
Maybe you should turn off MSDNC, things are positive and upbeat everywhere else.

Yeah, and that's horrible....hopefully Nike understands that most Americans will no longer tolerant them using slave labor in China and they will now be forced to change their business model.

Oh wait, thanks to Trump, they finally are: Manufacturing Already Moved Out of China. Now Where Will It Go?

Many U.S. companies have refocused supply chains to Vietnam, Thailand and other countries in the region, partly because labor costs have risen in China over the decades. They’ve also tapped into the once-hot trend of “friend-shoring,” where firms look to shift supply chains away from China and toward U.S. allies.

Nike, one of the leading sportswear brands, has been under increasing pressure to move its manufacturing out of China in response to growing U.S.-China trade tensions. For years, China has been a primary hub for Nike’s footwear and apparel production, benefiting from low labor costs and a robust supply chain infrastructure. However, with the ongoing trade war, U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports have prompted Nike to reconsider its sourcing strategy.

Nike has already begun shifting some of its manufacturing to countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, and Mexico. These regions offer competitive labor costs and are increasingly seen as viable alternatives to China. Nike is also exploring automation solutions to reduce labor reliance and increase efficiency in these new manufacturing locations.
NO ONE CARES WHERE STUFF IS MADE. If they did they could buy US shoes today. Why are you a communist???

Of course people care, normal people don’t like exploiting slave labor

I know plenty of people that haven’t bought Nike because of it

Why does not wanting to use slave make me communist? Very much the opposite in fact
