Would you be happier without it and having to pay full price for healthcare?
Without it the price of health care would be a lot lower and more affordable.

I just hit the point in my life where I sign up for Medicare. OMG! OMFG!! What a complicated, arcane, intricate, expensive web! I've reviewed Limited Partnership Agreements that were less complicated. It doesn't even pretend to be user friendly! It's geared to be confusing and frustrating -- and relatively expensive considering most people have paid into the system for 40+ years.
People illegally immigrating to the USA are treated with great respect and deference.
It's time for Seniors to unite, demand fairer treatment, simplicity and respect.
Social Security used to be the "third rail" of politics. A politician could not talk about touching it without ending their career. However, like all of our Liberties and Freedoms, it has been degraded and depreciated through the years. Bill Clinton started TAXING our benefits. What the fuck? 100% of all Social Security should always be Tax free!
Take Medicare AND Social Security! Congratulations, your Social Security gets reduced by Medicare expenses! You paid in your entire life and now you pay again and again.
Why is this OK? Why do we not demand friendly reform of these systems? Fairer, cheaper, easier to use. Any abuse punished by hanging from the Palazzo Vecchio....maybe a little much, but how and why do retirees put up with this?
In the ghettos the sirens do not stop and somebody is paying for that. Year after year, decade after decade. Let us stop doing this. Cities even charge those who work for ambulance services and have been for decades. Taxing the suckers over and over and still not providing a free service that the rioters get.Would you be happier without it and having to pay full price for healthcare?
You can't not sign up. My wife is a Desert Storm Army vet, so she uses the VA and has no need for Medicare. She's been on it for three years now. There's no way out.You signed up for Medicare! I'm a bit surprised. When I turned 65 I got the card in the mail. I was already signed up.
The House does tax lawsClinton was President in 1984?
I think that may have been your St Reagan who started taxing Social Security.
But presidents get the blame (or credit). The House does tax laws
i'm still in denial that i am one..... ~S~It's time for Seniors to unite,
Slow Joe voted for it.Clinton was President in 1984?

You understand that Medicare pays peanuts...right?lol you mean it wasn't free, like right wingers continually claim? OMG!!!
Pay up to $80 grand in advnace, then out the nose again on your retirement income, and watch doctors and HMOs plunder the system via outrageous charges and ridiculous drug costs. That's when you realize it's just a welfare program for the medical business and giant corporations.
You understand that Medicare pays peanuts...right?
This is how you proclaim that you do not know a damn thing about what Medicare pays without saying you do not know what Medicare pays! Others subsidize below-cost treatment for Medicare patients! You understand it pays for all these hospitals and clinics 'everybody else' uses, makes HMOs and it owners fantastically wealthy and makes big Pharma a great addition to portfolios, right? If you're believing those ridiculous prices filed as claims are legitimate, you're crazy.
For those not on it yet, when you use a service, they will send you some paper that shows what the service providers claimed was their price, and then Medicare shows they paid a reduced amount, not the full claim; it's basically a joke to make you think you really saved da big bux n stuff.
This is how you proclaim that you do not know a damn thing about what Medicare pays without saying you do not know what Medicare pays! Others subsidize below-cost treatment for Medicare patients!
Stop talking, boy, you have no idea what you are blathering about. Sit down and shut up.I'm on Medicare, dumbass; had to get on it at 65, and I don't draw SS yet. Is this sort of stupidity how you hope to bullshit others here into believing you know anything about it?
You also pay over $148 a month for Medicare without the Advantage plans. And that set rate goes up to $170 in 2022. So much for the government bragging about a cost of living increase to Medicare paymentsI wonder if the OP was talking about the Medicare Advantage programs that you have to pay for to get supplemental insurance for what Medicare doesn't cover or fully pay for.
Actually, I think ALL Americans should stand up and protest the bullshit that goes on today in Washington.
I pay an additional $69 a month for the Advantage plan to cover more on dental, vision and prescriptions.No. If you have Medicare about $150 (around about that much) is taken from your monthly SS payment to pay for Medicare. The Advantage plans are an additional cost for most. I have an Advantage plan that (so far) costs me nothing but it's almost the same copay setup as Medicare except I get Dental with it.
Since I almost exclusively use the VA I probably should do what Moonglow did and drop Medicare.
Yup. But in the meantime, Biden et al is paying $300 per month per kid to families with a six-figure income. To socialists, the low-income elderly who have finished their lifetime of work and contribution to society no longer have value; hence, the increase that doesn’t even cover inflation, while families with future workers get hundreds and hundreds of dollars every month. You also pay over $148 a month for Medicare without the Advantage plans. The elderly have to be weaned from living by the costs needed to keep them alive. Progs have made statements on this. They have been used and throwing them under the bus will happen. How it is done is to be negotiated. Independence will slowly be reduced at first and moving in with relatives will happen more and more in the fall from the peaks to start.I think seniors need to rise up given that Medicare premiums went up by 15%, taking away half the inflation raise for many seniors. After factoring in the Medicare jump, the average check is going uo by around $60 or $70 a month. Fixed-income seniors on total incomes of $35000 or less - and no option really to earn any money - are really being hit hard.
In the meantime, the socialists handing out money are giving $900 a month tax free to families with three kids earning $100,000 a year,
Senior citizen on low fixed income: $60 a month
Families earning $100,000: $900 a month
