She told the truth from the beginning. She said that Gianforte grabbed the reporter by the neck. When asked about that, she said that he put his hands on both sides of his neck, and could have grabbed his clothes. In an attack totally unanticipated, how was she to tell exactly what he did with his hands? That action only took a fraction of a second.

And exactly what he did with his hands does not make any difference, he committed assault and battery. And then Montana elected him to the House of Representatives. Our nation is in peril when we such actions rewarded. Beginning to feel more and more like Germany in the '30's.
