Yeah. Many in the old gang who were involved with all of that stuff back then weren't big fans of Doug. But then a lot of others saw the value in having him around.

If you look at so much of what is talked about out in the political wild today, a decade afterward, things that wouldn't even have normally been a footnote in mainstream 'press' if they'd have been allowed to continue running the same shallow narrative unchallenged, so many of those seeds were planted back then. Others have come behind and tried to take credit for that, and that's fine, it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things. Just so long as society is starting to talk about the really important things. It got done. That's all that is important.
