That is a very good question. It's almost as good as the question of why the Bush crime family was so relentlessly determined to invade Iraq, and why our military has been busily making significant portions of the Middle East unlivable, and why our President has invited its displaced, military-age male inhabitants to come here -- and more.

Yes- in reality we are at war.

No- we are not legally at war since we have not actually declared war on ISIS.

And finally- there is no real will for the United States to go balls to the wall to fight ISIS in the Middle East because Americans are rather tired of more Middle Eastern wars that should be taken care of by the peoples and countries most threatened by them.

I think it would be more correct to say ISIS is at war with western civilization while America may techinally be at war with ISIS we don't really fight like we are.

ISIS is at war mainly with Muslims- meaning every Muslim who does not join up with them. Which is why the overwhelming number of ISIS victims have been Muslims.

You do to them EVERYTHING you can. You kill them in the Middle East, you kill them when they attack us, you kill them when you catch them in their skullduggery, you kill them at every justifiable opportunity.

You never let up, you never speak of compromise, cease fire or peace with them until they concede that you have a right to be free and not subject to their religious authority.

Then you do everything possible to roll back Salafi Islam with funding freezes, embargoes, disgrace and everything short of violence, unless they resist arrest for spreading their mayhem.
