Sounds like a crazy position by whomever this person is.

A while back, there was a push to remove the presidential power to launch a unilateral nuclear first strike. The Democrats should really lean into this.

For one thing, there is zero reason to launch a first strike using nuke weapons.

For another thing, as a political matter, if handled right and bundled with other such nuanced arguments, it could highlight the difference between the parties to where Democrats can argue details and nuance. Republicans can’t.
