Back when I worked rehab we used that drug a LOT. Drug abuse and booze and most important psychotic events. The trade name is Valium.

Diazepam is mainly used to treat anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks and symptoms of acute alcohol withdrawal. It is also used as a premedication for inducing sedation, anxiolysis, or amnesia before certain medical procedures (e.g., endoscopy).[11][12] Diazepam is the drug of choice for treating benzodiazepine dependence with its long half-life allowing easier dose reduction. Hillary does exhibit some bizarre behaviour also she forgets things, she has those strange lesions on her tongue, she often appears unsteady on her legs, she has a persistent cough, she doesn't appear in general good health.
