A California Democrat held back tears earlier this month when a Republican lawmaker said it would be unfair to make Asians and Latinos pay slavery reparations to African-Americans.

"I’m concerned about the proposal to help facilitate distribution of reparations," Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez, a Republican from Santa Margarita, said during the hearing.

Sanchez cited economists who analyzed the proposal from California's reparations task force and found it could cost $800 billion.

"It is fundamentally unfair to force these people to pay for this," she said.

San Jose Democratic Assemblyman Ash Kalra responded, denying that reparations would be paid in an $800 billion "balloon payment from the state budget."

It is not only unfair to Latinos and Asians, but also unfair to everyone.
This reparations idea treats people as groups, not as individuals.
It is fundamentally unethical and immoral.
Our laws/constitution treats people as individuals.
A person is not responsible for something that he has no control of.
It would be like punishing you for a law that your brother broke.
The crazy Left Wing bigot Democrats treat individuals as racial groups because they are racist.

It doesn't even matter if your ancestors did own slaves, because as an individual you have no control over that, therefore you are not responsible.
The whole reparations issue treats individuals as a racial group.
It would not survive constitutional scrutiny.

Negroes will never get reparations. It is foolish for Democrat leaders to encourage them with the thought that they will.
