I'm not wishing more bad news for Californians, but the more rain and snow this winter, the better. A record snow pack will go a long way to replenishing Lake Powell and Lake Meade reservoirs for the Colorado River and all the Southwestern states relying on that water.

California’s snow pack at decade-high for New Year after massive storms
After three years of drought, California is starting 2023 with more snow on the ground than any start to a year in a decade thanks to a series of winter storms.
