I'd say that's "pure democracy".

A "real democracy" is where people get a vote on election day for a political party or individual and the system listens to the people (Proportional Representation), and perhaps, like Switzerland, with a certain amount of referenda on important issues, ie, people can push for available slots for referenda, like 8 a year or so.

The protesters, no matter the protest need to be aware that they can go to jail, peaceful or not. The truck drivers seem to be peaceful as did some of the BLM protests. I think it is all good as long as they are peaceful, but the government is within their right to quash the freedom of speech, it is just a bad look for them.

Canada is a democracy. They get to elect their representatives and president whom they refer to as a prime minister. Americans tend to forget that we are the only Country in the world that has guaranteed freedoms that are named in the Constitution. Some politicians tend to ignore 1st and 2nd Amendment rights but they are there none the less.
