Cancun Ted calls for more regulation of the Texas energy industry

LMAO $6000 holy fuck.

Why would you not get a locked-in contract for electricity? Doing a day-to-day rate based on "Current energy exchange rates" is insane XD

Let's see what right wing anti-regulation folks in this board say about this.
My best bet is that they are going to claim that they always wanted regulation for these companies anyway, but they were too busy to write it anywhere in the internets.

My best bet is that your are an evil asshole. It is not about regulation. It is about total control and massively increasing prices. Automobiles now have about 6 thousand dollars in safety regulations. How much is enough.

I'm a proponent of deregulation, but not in every walk of life. When we lived in Rock Hill, SC, just outside of Charlotte, the City of Rock Hill ran the electric utility and York County ran the natural gas. Never had an issue with either and our monthly bills were reasonable.

If not you'd still be polluting for smog and having windows that break if you hit a bird, and you'd still be getting six miles to the gallon.

Is he right to call for more regulation? Or is that something you're "too busy to write it anywhere in the internets"?

You should probably see a doctor, and get something to calm your nerves. I hope you don't have these outbursts in public.

BiteMe is breaking campaign promises on a daily basis and the left wants to keep us focused on fake news tempests about right wingers. So the guy accompanied his daughters to cancun. Bill Clinton, john legend, spacey, hillary, gates etc flew on epstein's lolita express in order to abuse children and you don't have a word to say about that. At least Cruz showed care for his kids rather than exploiting them.

We don't have that here.

We are civilized here.

We didn't privatize our energy. The people of my state own it.

The people elect representatives to the Public Utility District. We have public meetings regularly.

The rates can't be jacked up without a vote.

No private business makes money off heating and providing electricity to our homes.

We control that energy. We decide how it's generated. What the rates are and all the regulation on it.

We require that at least 20% of our energy comes from alternative sources.

We don't use fossil fuels to generate energy either. We use water, wind, solar, natural gas and nuclear.

A normal electric bill in the winter, which is the high rate season here, is around 85 dollars. The natural gas bill is a little higher around 100 dollars.

In the summer the electric bill is around 35 dollars. The natural gas is around 50.

We have the second lowest electric rates in the nation.

Why? Because we didn't hand over our energy to greedy private companies. We kept control of it and regulate it properly.

The invisible (very cold) hand of the market. Gotta 'hand' it to these companies! They know how the 'hand' it out and how to rake it in.
Purely profit based reasoning is easy to understand. Any idiot can do it. Human needs and wellbeing are so complex! Why even bother to try? Beside, they'll all be dead anyway soon enough. It's more or less "use 'em or lose 'em"; bilk the suckers while you can and have the politicians you paid for obfuscate in your place.

Anytime I hear of this canard of "privatization" is the only way to "live free from regulation" I'm reminded that there has to be more than only one sucker born every minute.

Privatisation is a method of transferring assets from public ownership to corporations. Its theft.

I live here now.
