And so many more who were practicing Catholics 50 years ago and much smaller footprint today. Older cities used to have parochial schools that equaled the same percentage of students that pulic schools had. In the early 1970's, something happened. I call it the changeover. At the same time Vatican 2 in full affect, the charges for the Great Society Moon program and Viet Nam War came due, the decline of our manufacturing prowess and quality started to show itself as other nations improved, feminism in full affect, we lost control of the fiat currency, affirmative action, diversity, quotas. Good or not so good. A President was destroyed. A decade earlier a President was sacrificed so the socialism could ramp up. Good or not so good.
